I like it. but it requires a custom fit, you cannot use pre-cut. so they will need to take out parts of the car, which I don't like them doing.

I agree with you about not wanting them to disassemble the car to install the film.

I had mine done at the dealer. They had a Porsche certified tech. do the disassembly (so I felt a little better about it). Here are some pics of the disassembly and the end result.

wow thanks for the pics, I would be less worried in this scenario. but still, removing perfectly factory installed tight panels and components... I'd be scared of some eventual rattles. That being said I'm still considering doing it for my targa, black metallic would probably look epic on stealth.

Or mix and match. I did stealth on the rocker panel and side mirrors. Very subtle, sometimes I have to look carefully to notice it. I tried to add a little contrast to the all black look.

Can you see the metallic flake through the film?

Personally, I do not like the look at all. But to each his own, as they say.

I like the look on non-metallic colors. How does it wear? I typically use xpel sealer over my film and then Kamikaze Over Coat as a drying agent ever 2nd or 3rd wash which keeps the film looking fresh. I would worry about the stealth getting shiny in spots over time.

I have the nonmetallic black paint. Also the whole car is wrapped in clear PPF. The matte rocker panel film is on top of the clear PPF- so another layer of protection.

I think the matte look is played out at this point.

Just to clarify, I only used Xpel Stealth on the matte finishes on the Lamborghini as most of the car is NOT matte. You have to use different products on the matte obviously. Personally, I would not want a matte finish on a daily driver!

This is not true- there are great patterns available that do a great job of hiding as much of the gloss paint underneath as possible. With that being said, a custom install by an expert installer will always produce the best finish, but a patterned installation can also be done very well, and cost less. In the end, look for a great installer and let them do the rest. This applies to either a standard gloss film or a satin film.

On disassembly, look for a shop who has experience with Porsches. There should be no issue with taking apart your Porsche; they come apart and get put back together in a high quality manner, which is not nearly as easy to do on a McLaren, Ferrari, Bugatti, etc.

Yes, you can! While the film is satin, it is still clear, and will show the metallic through it in natural sunlight.

Thanks for purchasing Kamikaze Over Coat!

There should be no worries about "shiny spots" over time. Stick to using products that have no waxes or gloss enhancers in them (like Kamikaze Over Coat), as well as avoid polishing the surface of the film. You really should not have any problems avoiding these two issues, as most high quality detailing products don't contain any components that would cause problems, and there is really no reason why you would be polishing paint protection film.

I don't care for it on darker colors. That white Carrera above looks nice though. Black looks best when it's shiny, IMO

Also - if you are going matte, I think it would look best if matched it up with a lowered stance, maybe different wheels. It's a non-OEM look, so better to go all the way I think.
