Default Front axle lift weight

Anyone know the weight of the front axle lift option?

Various people on UK forums , for the various GT3 etc versions give numbers between 6 and 7kg . Certainly one contributor said that what the equipment was when they had it removed by a specialist.
from this point they all start the argument whether or not it is /is not a potential item to affect handling at extreme

I ( spuriously) suggest , the system in the 992 will not be largely different

As noted above, the weight penalty of front end lift is practically insignificant on a car that weighs as much as the 992. That being said, unless you’ve got the Sport Design front fascia AND SPASM, you really don’t need it. The 911 doesn’t ride that low to the ground compared to other high performance cars.

Actually not 100% true that it is not needed without the Sport Design front. This is strictly dependent upon the particular drives and entrances taken. For instance, I don’t need FAL for my own driveway, but I do for the entrance to my office, my bank, my favorite local sushi restaurant, etc., just to name a few. These are driveway entrances that my last few cars would scrape and my 992 would as well without FAL. None of these have significant inclines, but are on streets that are relatively even yet there is a dip at the transition from drive to street. Font lip height in relation to the distance from the edge of the lip to the center of the front axle has an affect at the lip’s angle of attack through a given transition as well.

I live in small town Pennsylvania and take my SPASM equipped car in/out of Philadelphia as well. Horribly crowned roads and all kinds of ugly transitions for retail, and of course, friend's driveways. You take things at an angle, it's totally fine. The standard 992 front fascia makes is angled to help with the angle of attack. I can't say the same for my Alfa Romeo 4C Spider which rides lower than my SPASM equipped 992 C4S, but heck, even that car is manageable for most of the stuff that you encounter.

If you get especially nervous about those things, sure FAL can provide a piece of mind, but it's not really necessary on a 911.

The other overlooked reason is if you ever want to trailer the car (track days, moving, etc). In the past I had to get so many pieces of wood just right to make the simple incline of a simple uhaul car transport. FAL alleviates that frustration.

How much will it lift the front axle when engaged? And what' the cut-off speed for when it stops working?

"Electro-hydraulic function for raising the front axle by approximately 1.5 in. at the push of a button to increase ground clearance at speeds up to 21 mph."
