Another massively stupid thing from Porsche. I can change my sons Honda in 10 seconds but no, Porsche guys have to work a hack in order to change a digital speedo

Sorry this just annoys the shiite out of me. I did a 1 month trip into the US last Fall so researched this and just had to end up doing a quick km to mile conversion on the fly. I also ran a radar detector that showed mph but still...

But honestly what a ridiculous thing

My guess is, it has something to do with preventing people from purchasing vehicles in Canada or Mexico and bringing them to the U.S.

I just called one of the local dealerships here in South Florida to ask about doing the Country Code update to the car. The shop foreman came back and said it can’t be done. This is going to be fun. It seems that not all shops know it in fact can be.

Because people never move? I get what you're saying but this is still stupid in a +$100k car (approaching $200k in Canada). Maybe they should just install a fuel shutoff if you cross a border? So why do they allow the speedo on the left to change then? Stupid

It can be done for sure but why should anyone have to pay to do this?? Its just another annoying Porsche "we're special" affectation

The dealers are deliberately castrated, they can’t do anything ‘out of band’. Get a PIWIS setup from @rnlst_log and the world is your oyster.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just sent an email to that person. In the meantime, Do you happen to know where I can get PIWIS from and what other pieces I may need? I think he will need to remote into a laptop that’s connected to the car. Also, do you happen to know if the air conditioner recirculation can be coded to always be set to recirculate? I have an 2022 992.1 GT3, are there other common areas that get coded that I should request?
