Help, Need advice! 992 optioned vs 991.2 Turbo S
I am looking for advice. I currently drive an 2017 M4 competition and belong to a private track (Area 27) in Canada. I have decided to move to Porsche. I am very conflicted as when I spec a 992 to the spec I would want, C4S, Sport Chrono, PASM, PDCC and rear steer I am at $180K CDN. At that price I am well within the range of a 17 or 18 991.2 Turbo S with less than 10K miles on it. I will drive the car 90% daily driver 10% track. I put 6K miles a year on this vehicle as it is a secondary car. From the research I have done I believe the Turbo S would be superior on the track. I would appreciate any advice or perspective from anyone with perspective. Thank you.

I seriously considered getting a pre-owned 991.2 Turbo S, but decided to go with a new 992 C4S instead.
I've never considered the Turbo S to be a better track car. If that's your real priority, get a GT3 or RS. The "Turbo" cars are more than anything else, are really fast, super luxury 911s, with the emphasis on luxury.
So, why did I go with the 992 C4S? The 992s are better cars than the 991s. That doesn't mean the 991 is a bad car, but the 992 is better.
The 992 C4S is a sub-3 second 0-60 car. Honestly, that's quick enough and the car has a better interior.
Even with that, it was a tortured decision and depreciation was part of my consternation. The Turbo's have the worst depreciation of the 911s and that hit is only going to get bigger for the 991 cars when the 992 Turbo cars land. I may still pick up a 991.2 Turbo S after the 992 lands, but I want to wait for that depreciation hammer to drop. :P

The TTS can do amazing things. Endless grip with the AWD and massive torque, rear wheel steering, PDCC, PCCB. That's 553 lb-ft vs. 390 lb-ft. That ain't a small delta.

The Turbo S no doubt, way more car in that and worth the price. I am waiting till end of 2021 to switch my FBO E85 gtr for the 992 Turbo S. Area 27 is a great track!

Tough but the fact there is a newer and brighter version will end up having its effect in due time. Drive a new C4s...I've owned pretty much all the GT3 turbo models over the past 10 years and I couldn't have been happier speccing my incoming 992 4s...it's THAT good of a car. However, a stellar PTS Brewster green Turbo S 991.2 would still be pretty cool, maybe would make me think for a moment...but still end up going 992.

991.2 TTS had a Nurburgring time of 7:17 - the .2 GT3 is 7:12 ballpark on the Cup 2 tires. The TTS is a beast, drive one and you'll see.

Having previously owned a 991.2 Turbo - I'd get the 992. But it's easy for me to say, because I've already owned and done the Turbo thing.
I enjoyed owning the Turbo. It's a low key supercar. The difference between a 991.2 C2S and a 991.2 TT/TTS is enormous. The difference between a 991.2 TT/TTS and 992 is not nearly as great, IMO. The 992 is really well balanced and in some ways is a better driving car. The steering is much better and it feels more tossable.
I can't imagine what they'll do with the 992 TT/TTS. How much faster can it get?

CPO is the way to go with the TTS with finding a low mileage and well cared for car. TTS comes with many nice options as standard and in a way you get so much more for your money going CPO.
I have driven the 992 4S and it is an amazing car for driving everyday. It is getting pricey at around $150k which can also get you the 991.2 TTS.
At this point if value is a concern, in absolute money you'll lose about the same dollars if buying a 17/18 TTS or new 992 now over the next 2-3 years and then the TTS will be worth more after the 5 year point and may hold better.
Buying the one you personally like best of these two inside and out after driving them both will be it. As a former C4S owner, the choice between these 2 cars will be tough to screw it up.
You could buy a C4S 992 now, drive it a few years and upgrade to a 992 TTS....that could be the best plan for daily driving...
