Default Ok, my one complaint ...

Sadly, this seems to be a trend with so many brands today... even my BMW 540 has it.. albeit I feel it's more robust.. but the piano black panels by the shifter are very easily scratched.. so much so that I managed to put OCD viable scratches into them while using a vacuum (the hose rubbed a bit)... I decided to re-order new ones ($148 for the pair) and have my PFF guy coat them ... but I honestly think there will be a healthy after market place for carbon fiber, rubberized, or ideally ceramic (kind of like my BMW has as an option) panels to replace them.. I'd be willing to pay very good money for something like that.

On a brighter note, the rest of the interior build quality is the best of any car I've owned, and I've owned many...

I’d be interested as well. Hopefully they provide options to swap them out in time.

I agree that the aftermarket will step up with different options than piano black...Porsche will likely do so as well. With less need to be "active" around the console as many functions have moved to the screen it may reduce wear-and-tear on the piano black bits. For those in the habit of resting their hand on a shifter, the move to nubbin with PDK will reduce console hand and arm "activity" as well.

Just as BMW offered a Ceramic option for the I-drive ****, and other buttons... (well worth the money option) I hope Porsche does the same.... I would spring over a grand for that..

hey 992Sam, I like your taste, I think I own twin cars. My daily driver is a 540i that I’ve had since April 2017. It’s carbon black with all the goodies including ceramic controls, bowers and wilkins, night vision, m sport and all the packages. I switched from Piano Black wood trim to Aluminum Rhombic at the last minute because I was concerned about scratches. It saved me $400 and I’m happy with the aluminum. My C4S is currently sailing across the Atlantic. Pretty loaded like yours, Jet Black with two tone Bordeau/Black, 18way seats, sports package, premium package, Burmester, pdcc, rear axle steering, carbon fiber trim. The only significant option I left out was pccb brakes. Congratulations on your new car!

yeah... absolutely love the 992 but the scratches ... even my passenger side lock/unlock switch now has a small scratch... I sent an email to Porsche to bring their attention to it.. if that's the only complain tho, I guess I can't complain 😂

A little late but the Xpel interior kit for less than $10 also covers the lock and window switches. Good luck with getting your new panels installed and protected.

Good find moomin. It's also interesting to see the price on all the pre-cut kits. https://www.xpel.com/paint-protectio...rrera-4S/Coupe

I wrapped mine. Here is a picture of my first time around, not perfect. I reapplied the wrap properly the second time by removing the plastic panels. Its is a matte black wrap and blends very well with the car. It can easily be removed or swapped out.

I have the Paldao wood trim on my car. I don't understand why the trim to the rear of the shift console isn't continued to the sides/front of the shifter. I would be in the market for a kit to replace the gloss black plastic.

i has to pay $1200 extra just to get the area by the cup holder and up on the dash ledge in leather. I wish they offered it for the shifter area.

I like the idea of wrapping. I'd do brushed metal black; has some texture, but looks metallic, and without fingerprint issues. Very similar to the stock trim on 991, which I love.

I had mine PPF-ed as well - at least that protects them a bit... for the rest nothing but positive comments so far - I 've only driven 550 km so far though

Is there any installation instructions for this? I couldn't find on their website.
