Just like you I did European delivery of a Mercedes AMG in Stuttgart in 2014.
Driving on the Autobahn is a unique experience and you better pay attention and stay in the right hand lane unless you are passing.
European drivers are "compelled" to drive safely.
If not passing they return to the right hand lane the police do not ignore bad driving.
I pretty much spent as much time looking in my rear view mirror as I did looking forward.
Driving at high speed is safe when everyone follows the rules, in most of Europe drivers do follow the rules.
I moved to the US from the UK 40 years ago and even back than I was not impressed with the standard of driving here in the US - its only gotten worse !!!!
Drivers Ed here sucks and everyone feels so entitled, passing the test is the criteria, not so much driving safely.
