I don't know about you guys but the new norm with Porsche and their pricing is just mind boggling. 230k + for a Turbo S?? Why?? 150K for a Carrera? Im shocked they are actually selling these cars cause they are not enjoyable or fun to drive. The GT cars - different story.
Porsche is not alone in their inflationary pricing.. a Bmw m3cs is over a $100k... and the non-GT Porsche 911 is not very engaging when you've owned a GT car. Really nothing new here. 992 Gt3 Msrp will come in around $152k, and we will spec them To $200k because we can't help ourselves.

Agree with the concept. Once you've driven a Porsche GT car....nothing else will satisfy, which why I could never consider a BMW, or MB etc now.
There is no other high rev, NA, manual option, lightweight yet powerful, drivers car on the market.

Porsche intergenerational prices increase more than mid cycle refresh, so I expect 992.1 GT3 MSRP to be a min of 160K, likely 165K.

This was the third time I've driven a 992, as I keep on trying to make myself like it (kids/wife pressuring me to get "the latest and greatest" with lots of screens). It is just not happening for me, at least in the non-GT3 form.

While the 992 is silky smooth and very fast, there's just nothing engaging about it. It drives more like my wife's BMW than my current Boxster S (with the x73 suspension). Characterless is probably the best way to describe it.

The new interior leaves me cold. It's "new" but distracting and just not driver oriented. From the increased width of the transmission tunnel, to the hard plastics everywhere (compared to soft in the 991), to the distracting nannies (wet mode alert!), the visual impact of the shelf cutting the dash and the fact that you need to constantly access the touchscreen, it all combined to just turn me off. Perfect example: removing the soft plastic cushioning surround from the transmission tunnel and turning it into hard plastic surround that digs into your leg in the curves -- just bad design for a driver's car and places looks/cost cutting over function. Also not digging the overall interior design with the shelf splitting the dash and the fussy/busy look it creates and the move away from analog dials. Bottom-line on the interior: classic driver-oriented cockpit that is no longer cutting edge but should age well (991) vs jazz hands in the 992.

Then we get to the rear -- what made me fall in love with the 991. The rear on the 992 just looks unfinished, bulbous, and cheap.

Anyway, interested in seeing what they do with the 992 GT3 but it won't be for me unless they significantly modify the interior (unlikely).
And how about that cheap-*ss engine cover on the new 992 eh ? Looks like something Hyundai would use.
CHEAP
And yet their profit margins are thru the roof.

I hate the tach. Just can't get used to it.

Based on the stats for this new 992 GT3, I'm struggling to find a need to get one. 510 hp? vs. 500 hp? 8 spd PDK vs. 7 spd PDK? 22 lbs lighter ?? I mean I won't go to Wendy's then. WHOOP-TEEE

10-piston PCCBs on front- that's an improvement...BUT - 5% stiffer? Not worth it.

WAIT WAIT WAIT!! Not a fair comparison?? Of course it is! The 992S is the greatest thing since sliced bread and has same performance as a GT3!! RIGHT??

So, guys come to the 992 forum to slam and bash the 992 to discuss hopes of seeing a 992 GT3 that carries very little over from the 992 and then in the end determine theres little reason to even consider one when it arrives. And don't want the thread moved, why?
Not a 992 owner but you are a tough crowd.

The thread was moved here by the mods from the 991 GT3 forum.

I bet it updates on the 991 GT3 forum.. Unlike other threads the mods move and then it NEVER updates to the top of the list other than in the forum they want it to. Mods are a joke.

Mods, please create a 992 GT3 forum, stand alone please.

It will help avoid guys like me needing to take a imitrex.

I concur, there is enough spy video and speculation to warrant its own section. I come here looking for gt3 info and instead there's mostly threads about adding stitching on steering columns.
