Default Pedals ....

Hello All,
just looked down at my feet getting out of my 992 and noticed that the gas pedal has a blue line around it. Then I looked to the left and the dead foot pedal seems to have a yellow or orange film covering the whole pedal. And the brake pedal seems very plain. Did my dealer forget to remove some packaging ?

cheers.

They have protection films that you, the new owner, are meant to peel off. Similar to the protection film on the infotainment screen. It takes 2 seconds to pull off.

I’ve purchased at least 30 new vehicles over the last 30 years ( this is my first Porsche ) but have never had to remove plastic coverings from pedals on a brand new vehicle. It seems dangerous at some level to leave plastic coverings on the pedals. If someone’s foot were to slip off the pedal in an emergency situation...

I suppose you could take it that way but IMO, it's pretty trivial to pull off and isn't that slick anyway. Certainly a lot less slick than driving with wet shoes on a rainy day.

Just don't see the big deal...

How could you not figure out for yourself what it was and just remove it? I get annoyed when dealers take this stuff off.

I don't think any owner would care if they have to remove it themselves. The problem here is the failure of the dealer to alert a new owner to this situation. Shoddy delivery imho.
