2018 Jaguar XE-S.
V6 supercharged 3.0l with 380 bhp.
A great car in every way... but it was time to live the dream of owning a 911.
Waiting for delivery next February...
Just curious, what made you jump (relatively quickly) from the Carrera T to a 992? Not judging you, I didn't keep my Carrera T very long myself.
I had been eyeing the 992 for a while. I didn't think I would do anything for at least a couple more years but I kept playing with the configurator and once the Aerokit option came out I was just totally sold. Couldn't get it out of my mind and I just decided to do it! I loved the T though, absolutely wonderful car. If they didn't release the Aerokit I would still have my T right now.
Yeah fun thread! Sold a Panamera in the summer in anticipation of the 992, but also got a BMW M140i to share with the other half for general driving
Yes, I realise the plates are a bit much for many people! They are, however, our respective initials. I also got mine when I had a c63 AMG 507, hence the V8 bit...
after a few 911’s from 996 to 991, I tried the FF for a daily driver when the used prices tanked. Will always remember the sound and character of the NA V12. It was a special feeling with every drive but the maintenance cost and the problems it had dealing with the Chicago polar vortex...... i’m loving the usability and trustworthiness of the 911
Mine is replacing a 996 Turbo that I sold 18 months ago. I needed to drive something in the meantime when I decided to wait on the 992, so it is also replacing an MX-5 I got to drive until it arrives.
Curious as to what you think about the Miata. I know it's underpowered, but still good with the inline 4? I would think they'd just be fun given the ease in driving it at it's limits. Great fun/$ ratio?

i know you didn’t ask me but since I had two of the early cars as a young man I’ll chuck in my ha’penny worth.
Absolutely brilliant cars. A blast to drive. They’re like old British sports cars.
A free revving engine, perfectly placed pedals and a close ratio gearbox make heel and toe changes easy. The balance is almost perfect 50:50 too. They roll a bit and the tyres are thin but everything is progressive. There’s also plenty of scope to modify if you are so inclined.
I always thought it would be a perfect first car for my children. A proper drivers car, they will push it and learn how to drive properly, but it’s not fast enough to get into serious trouble.
Very happy memories. Would buy a 1995 SE if I found one today: black, special edition wide wheels (big improvement), natural leather seats and wooden MoMo steering wheel, speakers in the headrests and pop up headlights. What’s not to love.
