Default 992 4s or 991.2gts

Gts lighter..
992 faster shifts...

both stunning and good drives.

i have been chasing and missing out on some 992 demos... the gts has a lot of the options I want, and are not available yet for the 992. Am I making a stupid move in getting a c4 gts?

id like some feedback on this... al thoughts most welcome!

I have driven both cars and remain convinced that the 992 C4S is the better option over a 991.2 GTS. The 992 is certainly quicker despite similar peak power and torque numbers. They’re more different than the spec sheet would suggest.

i agree the 992 is an outstanding drivers Car. But IT is getting big. Even if it does not feel like IT is. The gts felt more similar to my prevoius, and have been wondering about a 996gt3 also. There is Even a lineage back to a superbetle i once had.

i am waiting for a PTS/cxx slot for a 992 build, the gts would be a Car for the next 9 months. The gts is almost 1/4 lower in Price than a 992c4s. 20t km difference...

im not exacly giving up on the 992, but rather waiting for a good build. I think the gts could be a Fun Winter Car and transeuropean cruiser for me til the cxx is finished.

You'll get sick of the old design. Get the 992 than upgrade to the new .2's.

what options would you be missing on a 992, that the 991.2 has? I would take the 992 if I had the choice.

If you ask the same question in the 991 Forum you will get opposite answers so since you have not let me take a crack at it. The 992 4S is not faster than a 991.2 GTS, but they are very close. I waited to order my 991.2 GTS until I saw the 992; the 992 just did not appeal to me. The exteriors and interiors are different enough for most to decide which they like the looks of better: Which one you like better? Even though I have a 991.2 GTS I would recommend waiting until the 992.2 and get the 991.2 now - you will not regret it.

If you ask this question on the 991 forum, the mods will just move it to the 992 forum. Ask me how I know this? Go on! Ask me! 😝

Ha! Give it some time OP, 991 owners will chime in. Either way, 992 people will say one thing and 991 people will say the other.

what ever way you go it won't be a mistake. However, what car do YOU like better? get that car.

The 992 C4S is faster 0-60. Having driven both cars, it also feels faster and benefits from a wider front track. Considering that the 992 S cars are faster than the prior generation GTS, buckle up for when the 992 GTS, GT3, TT, TTS cats land.

I love the 991 cars and they’re no less great with the arrival of the 992. With that being said, the 992 is very much an improved car. People can gripe about the cup holder, shaver shifter, and displays, but on a winding back road, yep, better car.

Having owned a .2 GTS and now a 992 2S I can say they are both great cars. I just did the Silverstone experience day in 992 last week and it was remarkable round the tight twisty track. I just couldn’t believe how well it handled, even on a wet cold track it really is something else. I know people moan about the sound but trust me when pushing it, its sounds great too.

You really cant go wrong with either, the trouble is once you experience the mod cons of the 992 I doubt I’d go 991. I swapped a GT3 gen 2 for the 992 by the way and no regrets at all.

Time is on your side, as 992s are becoming more widely available and prices on 991.2s are dropping and will drop further.

I'd wait until you have an opportunity to drive both, as that is the only way to answer your question.
