Is the 992 a supercar?

I'd argue that price does not make a supercar -- there are a lot of expensive cars that aren't "supercars". Depreciation doesn't make a used supercar any less of a supercar.
Speed, Power, Performance aren't good standalone measures either, because they very much change over time and EVs are reshuffling that deck.

I’ve seen a lot of magazines categorize the Turbo/GT2/3 and RS cars as supercars. Their price tags somewhat justify it too. I would agree with those models.

No. But classification has gotten a bit more subjective with the introduction of hyper cars and where the dividing line is.
Porsche Hyper Cars: 959, Carrera GT, 918
Porsche super cars: GT2/RS
Everything else no....including the Turbo S and GT3RS.

As a TTS owner I can hang with most super cars on a straight or twisty road but don't have the "super car baggage" of maintenance or insurance and I can drive mine every day. Now that is one super car.

I agree, the 911 is. But, I can easily see the GT2/3 RS in the same category as a Ferrari 458 and Lambo Huracan. Just because the 911 doesn’t have the slant nose and extreme design, it offers the same sort of extreme driving those cars do.

Dang brother, if you are so bothered by the banter here and don’t even like 992s, then who is the fool for hanging out here and getting uptight over people’s thoughts and opinions here?
911 has always had supercar performance coupled with everyday drive ability and cheap maintenance. In essence, it is the production number that keeps 911 from getting the supercar tag.
IMO, the use of GT, sports car and super car tags are a joke these days and mean about zilch, especially when insecure types start throwing around GT and sports car labels to try and convince others their car is better.
I do think 911s, esoeciallly the turbos and GT cars are supercars based on performance criteria but not exotics. But seriously, who gives two Fricks either way.
