Any new car registration in Europe starting next January 2021 have to meet CO2 95grams kilometer
all car manufacturers have already added mild hybrid Kers for that
weight increase should be limited to roughly 50kg with small batteries
you don t need Einstein to understand that s why Jsnko heard a Kers on the mule 992.1 GT3
my thought is that for cost reasons the first GT3 Kers will be just for emission regulations whilst the real motorsport Kers will be only on the next RS onward

- That's not Euro-VII
- PAG is still small enough for a "niche" waiver.
- Its 95g fleet averaged across ALL registered vehicles in Europe, with PAGs limit based on the average weight of ALL Porsches compared to weight of every other manufacturer's vehicles. All those heavy non-sportscars means they can pollute more..
- PAG gets super credits for the Taycan
It was kinda obvious where PAG was going when the 992 chassis included an empty battery compartment. I think the only question was around the availability of batteries in the numbers they require.

And as of the annual engine conference in Stuttgart over this past summer, Euro-7 was still on the drawing board with i don't think anyone even agreeing to a framework as of yet?

apart the taycan which will be sold in few digits the Porsche fleet is very far from 95 CO2 grams Kilometer
fines as you know are huge for any next model registered hence any new model have to get that kers on the well known 992 hybrid compartment
next 992 models are Turbo/S and GT3, GTS,
first ones starting from March 2020 and they will sell for 50000 cars at least, will they pay the megs fines for exceeding the emissions or will they trumpet the extra 30 HP and green footprint from the added hybrid system ?
Personally I find quite obvious the Kers option, anyone at PAG board instead tempted by a relatively cheap 718 4 liters engine combined with a more powerful hybrid alà Vonnen ?

Do you know anything about GTE racing or are you just fabricating things?
The prior iteration of the 911 RSR won Le Mans GTE Pro in 2018, as well as the Super Season titles for the 18-19 season; the platform also won in GTE Am in 2019. Meanwhile, the 911 RSR won the IMSA titles as well, along with class victories at Sebring and Watkins Glen, among other venues (Long Beach, Mid-Ohio, VIR, Mosport).
Furthermore, the updated 4.2L RSR holds first and second in the GTE Pro category for the 19-20 season and will make its IMSA debut at Daytona.
None of the cars against which the Porsches compete have KERS or any other form of hybridization - the GTE rulebook forbids it.
As far as road cars go, PAG will probably do what it usually does: arrive later than others with a refined utilization of technology in a car that seems a bit disappointing in terms of its on paper inputs. The real life outputs will likely be stellar.

You were the one who conflated the RSR’s (restricted) power output with road car relevance:
Only" 515hp... Long way from 700-800 that this platform needs to get to, IMHO, to compete with the turbo charged competition.

You're getting way too worked up for a thread on the internet. I asked about emissions compliance of the 4.2L and other changes needed for it become something that can be placed in a road car. Not sure how you got to lecturing about GTE racing. More power to you, keep lecturing, it's fun to get you worked up over nothing. Please equate this reply to F1 and Mercedes dominance in the 2019 season?

I have just returned from a two day Master training class with Porsche at Portimao. Over 30 x GT3 RS with a mixture of OPF/non-OPF cars. I swear that the OPF equiped cars pulled harder than the non-OPF cars right across the rev range. And I was not the only one to comment on this.

Quote from the November issue of Panorama, “the 911 will get some sort of battery assist, such as plug-in hybrid, by 2023.”
In the same article, “In the second half of 2021, the 911 GTS gets a redesign, and in the spring of 2023, the 911 gets a refresh and possibly a plug-in hybrid version, with technology taken from the 918 Spyder and the 911 GT3R.”
Pretty reliable source. I was always under the impression they shelved the hybrid 992, but it looks like the ever-tightening global emissions regulations are expediting things...
