Default Base 992 in Rhode Island Port

The Columbia Highway ported around November 15th. Does anyone else have a base model on that delivery? Has your dealer given you an estimate of delivery? Thanks!

Oh boy. Mine is scheduled to arrive late January. So now it's mid-February for release.. not good having the car sit any longer than it has to at port.

For real? My dealer about a month ago said something along the lines of January 10th.

Adding salt to the wound, my car arrived at port in Benicia today, not 20 miles or so from my house in SF. Ugh.

It’s definitely not a good idea to have the car sitting around, I believe that could have contributed to why my car was damaged. I don’t know when my car was damaged, but it did sit in Germany for a month, in Halifax for month, and at the dealership for a month. My replacement 4S is scheduled to arrive mid Feb and I’m happier it shouldn’t sit around like the first build did.

Yes true. Im just glad it’ll sit a couple weeks rather than months.. unless they push the date back 😳

Mine will be sitting at port for 3 months, it has been there since Nov. 4th already. What type of issues should I look out for when I take delivery? Rust, ect.?

I sure hope not! Wasn't the S / 4S just held at the port for 1 month? I don't know why this would take longer. It's basically the same engine (just detuned with smaller turbos)...

Folks have had their 992s held up for 4+ months.

I see a few posts concerned about their cars being left in the elements for a few months, but this is totally normal. They're not made of tissue paper. Being left in the sun and rain isn't going to hurt the car. Your cars will be fine.

Unfortunately, when it comes to the EPA, "basically the same" doesn't mean anything for homologation.
