Any new 992 owners that have the 'hard' sports exhaust button? does this take an age to activate when starting from cold...
The rest of the buttons activate immediately when you start the ignition, but the sports exhaust seems to take about a minute before it come active...is this normal ?
Yes all the rest of the toggle buttons are active immediately, except the Sports Exhaust one... doesn't do anything until about a minute after start....
It's ruining my morning routine... make coffee ... unlock car... start car ... press sports exhaust ... drive...
Might have to do with the engine / exhaust warming up. Does this happen on non-cold starts after driving it a bit?
No, it has to do with the PCM booting. Homelink availability, media etc all take the same time. Hazard is old school (probably some law) being ready immediately with the ignition on. I haven't tested the damper switch.
Most of the car is electric activated. Outer and inner door handles, brake boost etc

Correct. I have the new button but aspects of the PCM like auto start/stop and spoiler seem to take an age to load.

I noticed this as well. I believe it doesn't engage until the revs drop once the engine warming sequence (not sure what its actually called) is done. I think its on a timer for a minute or so as it seems to do it regardless if the engine is warm or not.
My 992 is many months away but did I read correctly that homelink isn't available until about 45 seconds after start up? If so that seems really stupid on Porsche's part...
What do you guys who have the cars do? Sit in front of your open garage door waiting for PCM to boot before closing the garage? Get one of those ugly old school garage remotes and clip it to your sun visor like it's 1982 all over again? Use an app on your phone if you have wifi garage openers? Leave the garage door open when you go to work?

Thanks that sounds exactly like mine... looks like my car's normal!! .... let's hope they sort this out with a software update!
That's really silly of Porsche. In an attempt to clean up the buttons on the 992 and move everything to the infotainment system, they’re pushing owners to go back to ugly remote boxes that are 1000x more visually disruptive than a couple of subtle buttons on the mirror or overhead console.
Could be an aftermarket opportunity for someone to come up with a nicely integrated hardware solution that looks like it was built in.
