Default Stop/Start disabled

So, after not having driven my 992 in 3 weeks due to travel, start it up this week to find the stop/start system is disabled, regardless of drive mode. Over 3 days and about 100 miles of suburban driving, the light on the dash simply has the slash through it and the car keeps running at stop lights, even though the weather was cool enough that the AC wasn't running. Previously, the default setting was always stop/start on, which doesn't bother me.

Anyone know what I might have done (without knowing it) to have the system default to off?

Possible I guess, but haven't expereinced it on other vehicles (3 year old Range Rover went straight to its normal stop/start behavior). In any case, would have thought a couple hours of driving would bring the battery back up?
