Default Cutting wheel arches on 992 to mount 28" rims

How viable is it and how much would you guys say it would cost to modify a rear wheel drive 992 to be able to have 28 or 30 inch rims? Serious question.

No clue but do you have any custom car shops in your area? Or maybe a monthly cars & coffee event where you might be able to find someone that has had body work done? I think it would be a lot of work since a lot of hardware has to move as compared to just rolling the fender lips.

you can do better just look the above dots over the rear arches,
indeed you have to mod the exhaust

Alright I'll bite. Why do you want 30" rims on a brand new 992? Are you auto crossing?

If you want to void the warranty and reliability of the vehicle from Day 1, go ahead. And as others have mentioned, this idea/request is seriously beyond my comprehension.

Why in the world would this be good for the vehicle, nice looking, or provide any practical sense?

So, you want to fit wheels that are 30% larger in diameter, which results in a circumference that's about 70% longer.
The presumption here is that you don't care about performance at all, because the car will be significantly slower (about 40% for a given engine speed).
Even with the safety/reliability factors that Porsche bakes in, you will be putting significant stress on the driveline and transmission.

If you wanted to do this, there's not enough fender that can be cut to make the wheels fit under the stock ride height. You'll have to lift the car AND cut fenders. PASM is going to freak out and you'll likely have to terminate those connections. ABS and traction control are going to be way confused. To do this without your dash looking like a Christmas tree, you'll need someone that knows their way around the Porsche ECU.

Thinking Bodywork, Suspension (you'll also need new arms to raise it this high), Electronics work, plus the Wheels, this is a $150k project (minimum) that would result a car with zero resale value and no warranty. Literally zero resale value, because this is a modification that no used Porsche buyer would be looking for.

I hope this is for 30 inch tires (not wheels) and somebody is building a 992 Rally car in which case I"m ALL IN on this project.

from OP's original post:
"28 or 30 inch rims"

i simply can't imagine this is a serious question... but wouldn't 28-30 rims basically push the tires through the ceiling of the front fenders??

this is ridiculous.
