Default Quad exhaust tips powder coated gloss black

I wanted an all Red/Black 992 and also did not want the Sports Exhaust. Back in January you could only order the standard quad exhaust with silver exhaust tips (new option a few months back now offers Sports Tailpipes in Gloss Black for $760 which is what I wanted but couldn't get).

Anyway after adding full body PPF and then the hardwired front/rear dash-cams and radar detector I finally had the exhaust tips painted. I had the option of ceramic coating in matte black (good for temps up to 2000F) or powder coating in almost any colour (good for temps up to 400F). As the dealership techs told me the exhaust tips never gets too hot to touch I went with powder coating and choose high gloss black to match other trim (wheels, PORSCHE logo etc).

Some BEFORE pics:

The actual exhaust tips removed and powder coated (most of it was matte black and all had to be scrubbed off beforehand):

Finally the finished product on the car:

Much better! Somewhat off topic but are the PORSCHE letters Gloss Black? Can you tell how the letters are attached?

Yes - there is an option to have the PORSCHE letters in high gloss black (about $300). It looks like below the rear light bar going the width of the car there is a black bar that the letters are attached to - I don't think you can remove the letters individually...

Absolutely - let me know when!

Also I would like to do a sound recording comparison of your Sports Exhaust against my standard exhaust to demonstrate what US cars without GPF sound like...

I have the sport exhaust. We could make that happen.

Do you mind sharing what shop did the work, and at what cost?

Jet-Hot ( https://www.jet-hot.com/ ) will coat tips for about $100-120, and they are doing work for Soul now as I had mine done by them and they liked the job they did; contact Lon for info. You can easily remove your tips and ship them since not having tips on for a short time will do no harm. Another place that does great work for a little less is Bonehead ( www.boneheadperformance.com ); Chuck is the point of contact there.

Thanks!

Those were the two I was looking at much earlier in the year but then got a notion in my head to switch to a T/GTS. Circling back now and was curious to know if those were still the go-to. Appears they are.

Those look really sharp. I am a fan of the blacked out quad tips -- maybe I'm old school. And IMO, looks better than two center positioned pipes.

Personally I like the quads as well but dual centers were my only choice with a Targa GTS, and since I do not see the rear that often I can live with it!

Can you explain how you easily removed your tips? Did you have to take off the rear bumper?

Thanks

No, just unscrew them! Really easy - take a look and you will see that there is basically a clamp on each one that you loosen to slide them off.

Thanks, I have sadly purchased the tips before the car. This is my first mod, then clear corners....

My car is not due in until late January early February, and found a slightly used set on eBay.

I appreciate the help.
