Decided to go with 30%. Thinking that without a black interior, it should look about right! Very small difference in 30 and 35% according to the installer......will see.
Has anyone tinted or plan to tint their 992? I’m on the fence about doing it. I’ve tinted most of my cars in the past, but nothing like a 911. I’ve had feedback from friends that believe it shouldn’t be tinted, and it will lose the classic sports car look!
I’ve always tinted for aesthetics more so than the performance of tint such as UV & heat protection.
Pics are a plus! Any input would be great!
is this poor guy still banned? How long do bans last here? What did he do?
Posted this in the other "tint" thread but thought I'd put it here as well. I went with Xpel Prime XR plus 30% all the way around (no windshield). Looks great and I thought it would be darker. Looks lighter in person than my pics, but can easily see out of day/night. I'm happy with it and is a must in TX summers!!
Awaiting my 911s delivery 2/2022. Will have a glass sun roof and wondered what others have done with either xpel or ceramic coating on their sun roofs.
Just spoke with a shop for ppf and ceramic coating after delivery and they mentioned not offering anything for the glass sun roof because of the type of glass used and issues with the finished product.
Seems like an important part to have covered for UV protection and temperature control in the summer months.

Best.
I had my glass roof tinted with 20% and never use the shade unless I’m parked in the sun for an extended period of time. It’s glass, so unless you’d at ppf or ceramic to the front or rear glass, not sure why you would do the roof? I did add ppf to the black strips in the front/rear of the glass sunroof, but in hindsight, not sure it was needed.

Thanks for the reply. Was your roof done in xpel or ceramic?
20% sides and rear with 70% windshield with XPEL XR Plus. If anything, I would consider 15% sides and rear in the future. My wife has 15% sides on her suv and I like the privacy, if you’re driving in a dark place at night with no street lights, I roll the windows down until I’m back on a Main Street. It’s hot during Florida summers and I like my privacy when I want to keep the top and windows up.

Ceramic on all the paint, ppf on the full front, rockers, rear hips, and the shiny black exterior areas around the glass. I also tinted the windshield 60%, which I would absolutely do again.
I was looking at doing 35% all the way around. And going through Carzwerk in Fremont when they do my new car prep + ceramic.
Just not 100% sure I want to do the tint 😳
jkautz- I tried to PM you but it didn’t go through. I’m also in NorCal. Mind sharing what drove you to Carzwerk? I’m trying to figure out what detailer to go with.
