If anyone if near an Infiniti dealership. Try the Bose in the Q60 S. I come from that and think its better.
It is actually $5k more than the Bose, which is not free so it is really worse in that respect.

Sorry, my bad...I was talking about the 991.2 cost so it has gone down, which does not happen much albeit they raised the base price of the car.

Default Standard audio

I've been living with near 20 year old bmw 540i speakers and before that I had standard subaru (base level) audio in my WRX. I think even the standard sound system in the 992 will be a pleasant upgrade.

Back when I owned my 991.1 C2S, the bose system was more than enough for my needs.
I went through the same decision earlier this month when my build got locked down. Had to keep the costs down as taxes on base vehicle price and options is really high in my market. Bose is about $3500~ and Burmester is a super high $14000~ option.

Decided with the standard audio system as when I compared the Bose vs standard, the difference was minimal and not noticeable on FM Radio music source. Slightly more noticeable in mid-range and bass clarity and tone when using Apple Music through CarPlay. But definitely not enough to justify an additional cost. Didn’t get a chance to test BT or other media sources.

The SA also did mention that the standard audio was made by the same manufacturer as the Bose system, and the only difference was the 2 additional speakers and the dedicated Bose Amplifier.

Also the fact that the cabin area is probably 50-60% of a regular Sedan or small SUV, and 10 speakers with the standard system is probably more than sufficient for most audio listening requirements.

Thanks for the reply, this is the kind of input I need. I'm not an audiophile, and listen to a lot of FM radio and occasional spotify or soundcloud. I can get my build down now likely below the 125K mark. Taxes could be a deal breaker, I guess we will see what that ends up being.

Found the problem. I have apple loss less files being played direct from the cord. The burmester optimization for compressed music was checked. Once I turned it off and waited a minute for it to catch up it worked alot better. It was seperating my lows and mids.

Now the system cranks and have less of a complaint. But I think the door woofers should have been stronger.

My Bose could handle Madonna erotica on full bass. My burmester can't pass level 3.

Q60 is a big car so that's an advantage likely with the acoustics, plus inside I'm sure is quieter too. That said, Burmester bass was great in my 991.2 TT, better than Bose in every way, although Bose has improved. Is there a 'wellness check' they can do on your Burmester because I'm surprised I'm hearing this.

when I get the Burmester equipped car in December I'll report back, but based on what I heard in the 991.2 they have at the dealer, I will not be disappointed with the additional $4K spent.

Can you post a picture of your service receipt or share what they did to fix your door rattle? I have it on my front right door of my 992.

I can tell you what I did. Took the driver door panel off and put three strips of the smallest weatherstripping I could find on the part circled in blue. Put the door panel back. Never made another peep. That was my 981 Boxster GTS, but same thing.

I've got Burnmester in my 991. While car was in for service got a new Panamera loaner with Bose (Should sound better than a 911) and IMO it sounded terrible. I agree the Burnmester could use a little more bass but the clarity is SO much better. You can crank the Burnmester up to full volume on Spotify and it sounds clear. If you go for the Burnmester, you will definitely appreciate it when you are cruising down the highway and YOUR song comes on.
