Default 992 Bose vs Burmester Comparison

Yesterday, at my local dealer I had a chance to compare Bose and Burmester in the 992. With help from the sales rep we adjusted the tone and bass settings to be similar on each system. Using my iPhone via spotify I played the same two songs... The highs and mids were clearly better in the Burmester but the Bose was hitting the bass lines harder. Burmester bass / subwoofer seemed under powered or not using its potential compared to the Bose. I'm the kinda of guy that like to "feel" the bass in my music. Anyone else had the opportunity to compare in the 992 with the same results?

Bose's sound signature tends to be more bassy. Not surprised Burmester highs and mids were better, they use higher quality drivers than Bose does. The "less" bass you are feeling is more accurate bass. Even Public Enemy's, Don't Truss it bass is tight not boomy.........And one more thing, you were using Spotify.

My comparison experience lead me to feel that at even $3500+ extra, the Burmeister was worth the money.... much clearer audio at all levels...

I did my comparison on side by side 991's, and felt the same way...the Burm was noticably crisper at all volume levels...not that the Bose was bad. Now with the Burm on the 992, really happy with it.

I had Bose on my previous 997.2 and 991.2 and thought the system sounded pretty good.

This time, I went all in and ticked the Burmeister box and I'm glad I did.
I'm using lossless via my SD card and the sound quality is superb.

Someone mentioned the Bose sounded more 'bassey''.

I'm in the high end audio/video business and through experience, I can tell you what this is. In a word, distortion.

In my field, better quality subs often sound like they have less bass when in reality, the bass output is tighter and more controlled, and because its less boomy this is often mistaken for lower bass levels.

I think I picked the wrong system for the type of sound I wanted. I could of went with bose for more bass.

Great sound for a symphony but not for top 40

while tighter, I would hardly say it has no bass.. I listen to rock, jazz and top 40 and find it to be perfect... I don't think door rattling levels of bass sound good, but then sound is subjective

They noticed my door was loose. They’ll take it apart and tighten it this weekend while I’m away. Let’s see when I come back.

Default Standard Audio?

What about Standard audio folks? Who has tested and compared to the Bose system? I have a feeling it is waste of money to spend $1600 on the Bose given this car is a sports car and it will be noisy to enjoy any kind of music. Thoughts?

im way past my budget of $130k options and I feel like only think I can compromise is the audio

I paid the premium for the Burmester - but in fact I usually forget to start playing music once I hear the engine running, so yeah.

Bose is good, but the Burm is God-like. Hell I may even get rid of my GT3 because of it.

I suspect its like most audio upgrades.... its better. so if that's worth the coin to you and you can afford it, go for it!

I would also like to hear from people who have heard the standard audio. I've been able to get my build down below 127k with everything that I really want in the car including Bose ....but I'm willing to cut the Bose if the standard audio is acceptable and I can save even more.
I've been living with near 20 year old bmw 540i speakers and before that I had standard subaru (base level) audio in my WRX. I think even the standard sound system in the 992 will be a pleasant upgrade.

Back when I owned my 991.1 C2S, the bose system was more than enough for my needs.

I got my door and Burmester Fixed. The door rattle is gone and I can turn it up.I think it would be good system if bass was more present for 5k. Door woofers aren't strong enough to keep up. Subwoofer isn't that powerful to help.

If anyone if near an Infiniti dealership. Try the Bose in the Q60 S. I come from that and think its better.
