Default Radar detector owners, what do you plan to do?

So I found out for sure that the 992's do not come with the 12v cigarette type power sockets... I have a Uniden R7 that uses a RJ11 cable to power up... I wonder if I should just have an auto stereo shop install power to my rear view mirror? What other options would I have?

There is a cigarette adapter in the passenger foot well on the left side.

9/21 pictures, fuse box hardwiring

besides, there’s a cigarette lighter socket on the footwell, like most modern Porsches

I think I'll do the auto audio shop hardwire like in that photo.... but seriously, I couldn't find the foot well socket, and neither could my dealer.

Left side passenger footwell, like prior models. I don’t think that’s an option. My car is in the shop , or I’d take a pic

you've actually laid eyes on it? Because the Porsche USA rep told me it is unavailable on the 992

So sad how the experts didn't know this, and yet they admonish us to stay off the internet for our facts

Your first mistake is assuming they are experts. More experts on RL than at dealerships.

They used that port to plug in the trickle charger in prior years. Maybe there is a different plan for the 992.

I waited and waited, but found the Uniden R7 to be too good to pass up
