Interesting. I had a 17 540xi and had zero issues w any of the tech. You can probably ask them to update the software next time you take it in, but you will need to cite your specific issues. AFAIK, they avoid doing software updates unless the customer has specific issues, as any software update can bring its own set of issues.

at the last service I told them about the bluetooth and the car play and asked for an update they said their wasn't one.. This car was fully optioned out with everything.. $81.5K. sticker... maybe too many for the computer to handle... anyway, 5 months left on the lease and my main wheels will be my 992

I have a 991.2 and CarPlay will just not work sporadically. I've had the screen just turn off randomly, for no reason. These cars are computers, computers sometimes don't function as intended. It happens. These things feel like how everyone flips out the second a new iPhone is released, because of some bug or feature or whatever, and then a few weeks later, everyone moves on.
I've also had multiple trim pieces break after going to a dealer/getting the windows tinted, have an extremely annoying rattle coming from the C-pillar (should be fixed soon hopefully), the smartphone compartment is basically useless, as far as I can tell, and the wi-fi is so painfully slow and inconsistent sometimes I have to turn it off to actually get internet. And this is on a 2018 911, not some first year model. It is what it is.

I hate to break it to you OP, but Porsche is pretty much the worst technology company. Thankfully that’s not why we buy these cars. Don’t be dazzled by all the screens and buttons. They will eventually work but not the way you expect them too. If you go into Porsche ownership with 2 - 3 things in mind, you’ll always have PermaGrin: 1) don’t expect a 1st gen car and tech to work perfectly. 2) don’t expect the tech to work flawlessly ... ever. 3) DO expect a great driving car.
You’ll get number 3 above. Lower your expectations for the first two and you’ll be happier, I assure you!
