To each his own, but painted trim is just too much for me. Photo of a single piece can look fine but it just comes across as overwhelming/tacky when you view a larger shot of the entire interior.
I suspect Im in the minority here but, in the yellow colour, I thought this was an evocative retro look and I like it. That said, Im not sure it would work for all colours and I suspect the surface would be prone to damage.
Ordered this on my spec for 2 reasons... for context my car is jet black exterior and slate-grey interior so the painted finish will be black:
(1) It looks good next to the black piano finish. The other ones (silver, aluminum, etc) clashes with the piano black
(2) You get the silver line underneath the painted part as well as the silver colored door handles that both replace the plastic cheap looking grey finish you normally have
I think its definitely colour dependent. When I was playing around with configurations, I spec'd it with jet black, but not with GT silver (both with truffle, btw).
I went with the leather option in the end (I'm in the UK so I think it literally just leather where the carbon/wood, etc would be).
Its bloody annoying though that with truffle (or solid all-over bordeaux, for example) all the Alcantara options APART from the headliner are black.

I didn't think you could have leather as a trim/finisher option... I thought it was either the daimar silver, carbon fibre, painted (subject of this thread) or the standard finish. Didn't see that on my configurator here, although I did have it on my 991.2

It might be where you are? I'm in the UK and it's a £758 option. It's definitely leather (in same colour as the seats) where the carbon, diamar, painted, etc. would be with their respective options.
As it happens - I think I wish I did the brushed aluminium (again, maybe UK only option?) option for a bit more contrast!
Yeah i'm in Dubai and i don't have that option on the configurator. Don't beat yourself up about the choice - you can always get those replaced by Porsche a couple of years if you really don't like it. But as I understood, you ordered Truffle or Bordeaux which are both bright colors so it should be amazing. I had mine on a 991.2 in graphite blue which is quite a dim colour and it was still nice.
Yep, I did truffle brown with chalk stitching, with the leather option, so that will also be the truffle on the dash strip, around the bottom of the centre console and on the door strips.
I'm also hoping I can swap out the PSE oval pipes for the standard quad pipes when the car arrives.

Same here. Ordered flat black with red/black interior. The black painted trim and silver should look more refined than the standard stuff
