Default Drove 992 C2S Today

Very pleasantly surprised. Steering is GT car precise. Interior was actually much better in person than I expected. Quality was great, and the cabin actually felt no less intimate than the 991. My current car is a 991.2 GT3, and while that car is definitely more of an event to drive the 992 felt like it had just as much performance.

Sky not falling. Porsche still builds great cars. Just letting everyone know. I was super skeptical but walked away really liking it way more than expected.

I finally took delivery today (C2S), and I've been driving it around all day.

After all the gloom and doom I heard, I was starting to regret my order just a bit too, but all that disappeared when I finally got the car. It is absolutely gorgeous, the side profile is very sexy, the backend looks futuristic, and the front is aggressive. It felt small and nimble and the handling is great. (I do have RAS and SPASM) The 14-ways were very comfortable and I could see myself doing long road trips in them. I got the black interior but it did not feel dark or cave-like. The sports exhaust is quite loud and obnoxious. And ... surprise surprise, I could actually see all 5 dials.

My only gripes are minor ones. My other car is a Tesla and coming from an instant torque experience, I can feel a bit of lag when I put my foot on the throttle. And, I really don't like the piano gloss finish on the center console. It doesn't necessarily feel cheap, but it feels like a pain to keep clean, I wish this part was matte like the 991's.

All in all, this is the perfect daily driver and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Same thoughts as you...but when I put my eyes on it and sat in it..I not only laughed at the critics...I laughed at myself for considering what a group of people online had to say about a car most of them do not even own.

Enjoy your car sir.

I have seen and sat in one and stand (and sit) by my comments, just as many have also done, and I no matter what I will feel the same since looks come before everything else. But I am glad that some like it since I really do want Porsche to do well.

Simon.

Please check back in with a new thread in here (The 992 forum) after you receive your new car.

I won't be selling my 991 GT3 anytime soon but and seriously considering a 992 for the more "refined" social events in life with the fam.

Thank you!

Congratulations to all of you that have received/ordered a new 992. As a past owner of a '17 991.2 C2 and a current owner of a '19 991.2 GTS I promise you will not be disappointed with your decision. I got to drive a new 992 C2S yesterday and here are my brief comments:

Exterior - love the changes and car looks so much better in person than pictures.
Interior - the new dash/instrumentation makes my car look antiquated. Found the new PCM excellent and new gauge cluster a non-event. Like others the piano black surface treatment not my favorite, but pretty minor complaint considering how much more modern interior is as a whole.
Driving - my GTS is quick, but this car is even quicker. Ride characteristics are better especially for a daily driver and I loved the internal exhaust sound of the new model.

So, in my opinion, I bet every single one of you will love your cars. Trust me, there will be more than a few of us that are envious of your new 992.
