Today I installed this mods4cars convertible unit. Not complicated at all. This video was very helpful. https://youtu.be/hfkVAtCKiFo The only difficulty, if you want to call it that, is it's pretty tight back there once you roll the carpet back and it kinda feels like you're working upside down and backwards so you just have to look at the connectors on the dongle you're installing to see what to disconnect and pull out the little red tab on the existing unit so it unlocks and comes out. It's a little hard to see exactly what you're doing but it's fairly intuitive. Slow and steady it took me 30 minutes and that includes a few tries to open the top more so I could maybe get a better angle in to see what I was doing (I couldn't).

I'm waiting for the Blendmount rearview adaptors to come off backorder so I can install a Uniden r7 radar detector without having to run the line to the fuse box, which I'll likely do with my new Garmin mini dashcam that I got in the mail today, which is something I've never done before but these boards are giving me a lot of confidence to try.
Quick update on the mods4cars key fob top opener - a couple times over the last few months I noticed it wasn’t working to open when the car was off for more than 30 minutes so I checked the website and sure enough there was a firmware update to fix the exact issue. A little bit of a pain to have to go in again but fortunately removing it is nothing more than gaining access and removing just the small unit which was attached in a very accessible place with Velcro. It only took only 5 minutes and the issue appears to be resolved. Would have been nice if they emailed about the update but just happy it fixed the issue.

I managed to get a set of HRE FF11 wheels in satin black before Christmas but the weather has only just got warm enough to stick the summer tyres back on....
Fit and finish is spot on. Apologies for the mucky car, but it’s a daily driver not a garage queen 😅

If anybody here subscribes to the Savage Garage YouTube channel you know who Randy is. We set up his 992 Carrera with HRE's 527S. A wheel model that is getting more popular by the day for all generation 911's.

My total faux pas can no doubt be attributed to my 70 years of age and the eyes of the eagle are not as sharp as they were. But back to your car. It's indeed beyond satisfying to see someone actually drive the car on a cloudy or rainy day. Mine will be, like all my vehicles driven year round. When the finance guy asked if I wanted PPF or ceramic I told him I want the 4 air post jacks like on the IMSA or F1 cars in the 80s which is where I'm going to be spending 4.5 grand. For the rest, it's a car, it will be driven, it will get dirty as for therapy I have my Siberian Huskies

Hi Siberian,

I would would have driven it even more this winter if it hadn’t been for our lockdown. It was typical we had more snow here in Scotland than we have had for years and I wasn’t able to fully test out my Alpin 5s! Must admit when I did drive on the snow with them I was mighty impressed.
Had the pleasure of being on a dog sled Safari once in Whistler - absolutely awesome!!!🐾🐾🤩 I’m not sure I could even get my 3 cocker spaniels running in a straight line 🤣
Sending greetings from Scotland for a great weekend👍

Those look very nice. Wow...Impressive. How did you source them and how long did they take to make?
