@Cartod whom my question was geared towards owns a T. No premium package availability on a 992 T. The storage package is only available via the separate no cost option.

Agreed… 1000% The netting on the passenger floorboard looks cheap to me. To each his own.

I have owned two BMW Z3 Roadsters, one new and one used, which I still own the used one. In either case they come from the factory with a passenger sidewall storage net as standard and if it is frequently used it stretches out and looks like total crap years later, especially when a car has been subjected to frequent heat and UV. Hard pass…

@Cartod did you connect the battery charger to the car, while you disconnected the battery?

I understand that one lose all sort of computer settings when the battery is disconnected.

Absolute heresy...like driving your car when there's a cloud in the sky or a bird has been sighted within 5 miles. Ghastly indeed!

Apparently you don't know the difference between opinion and fact (or when to use "it's" vs "its"). If you bothered reading, you'd see I wrote that I "PERSONALLY THINK" it provides no value, and, PERSONALLY, it does not, to me. This is a fact, whether or not you like it, and regardless of the value it offers to you. If it indeed provides value TO YOU, good for you! Enjoy storing your chachkies in your factually-useful little net!

What you "loose" are a lot of your personal preferences. The best example being things like your favorite radio stations. For this reason I took pictures (cell phone) of my instrument Cluster and the PCM. I also have a text list of my Favorites. That way if/when I or the dealer disconnects the battery, I can reset everything in a "relatively" short period of time.

I made a little box from Radio Shack parts with a 9V battery and connect it to the cigarette/spare outlet. When you disconnect the battery it will save your personal settings

Shouldn’t it to be 12 volt?

No, you just need enough power to keep the memory etc. chips powered; not the whole car.

That works if the technician(s) at the dealership use the one they're "supposed" to have.

For those not a skilled or as bored as the Siberian gets during those Alaskan winters . . . . these can be acquired on Amazon for ~$15.00 . . . . minus the battery of course.
.

I use the storage package to hold my toll pass. I don’t like it on the windshield so just leave it in the net. Works fine there.

That's the basic idea behind it except I added a little plastic box to store the battery, drilled a hole for the wires....

Winters are long they get your creative juices flowing as @Bluehighways said
