Thanks, these look great on the black exterior ... I have a feeling that the smoked lenses will similarly look better on Gentian Blue than the clear lenses
I was a little nervous that they might be a little too “Pep Boys lifted ratty pickup” but they are not that dark. I agree they’ll look good on the Gentian Blue.
I used the duct tape ‘handle’ to install. First one took a minute to find the roll, second took about 15 seconds once I knew the technique.
A new set of Pilot Sport 4S N spec tires from Tirerack.
It has ~9300 miles and the P Zeros that it came with still had a good amount of tread but the front wheel scrubbing/skipping in tight radius turns on colder days from imperfect Ackerman geometry had gotten really annoying with the half worn Pirellis.
Much improved (almost completely gone) with the new PS4S tires on.

That tire skipping comment... Is that a known issue with the Pirellis? My car is still new to me and I have noticed that on the fronts when I'm turning in my driveway.
I'm in the northeast, so while I've been cautious to not run these in very cold temp, I've been no warmer than ambient 55F.

It seems like the Pirellis might do it a bit more than some other similar category tires but I don't have much data on that. I can tell you that newer Porsches tend to do it more than many other cars (my Macan and 992 both suffer while my GT3 and 993 don't), it tends to be more pronounced with tires that have large tread blocks and stiffer construction (i.e. UHP tires - when I put my Macan back on all seasons, it went away), it tends to be worse if the tires are cold and it gets worse as the tires wear.
So the reason I can't really compare the Pirellis vs. the Michelin is that the Pirellis have 9000+ miles on them and the Michelins are new. Would be interesting to try back to back with brand new tires and then again with comparable wear down the line.
But my anecdotal observation is that new PS4S barely do it at all and we will see how long that lasts.

The geometry is the geometry so the type, size or manufacturer of the tire makes no difference. They will all do it. What is variable is the effects. The sound and feeling is much less noticeable with softer rubber so a new or warm tire will make less noise and vibration during skipping than a hard, cold tire. My 997, 991, 987, 981 and 992 all did it. It’s just the geometry……not a defect.

Just when I though I had done all the cosmetic mods I was going to do (Clear Side lights, remove Red rear reflectors and replace with body colored, frunk protector and liner, etc. etc. - decided to put on the GT3 Side Skirts to give a bit more flavor to the sides of the targa.
Was around 500 from Suncoast for the pair. I think with as high as the targa sits (no SPASM on targas) - I think it sharpens the look a bit.
I switched back to summers today so thought I would spend an extra 20-30 minutes putting these on while I had it up on the lift doing the tires.. Very simple mod.. I like the look...
