Wiring a Radar Detector/Dashcam
Anyone figure this out on the 992, yet? I want to tap into the overhead wiring and avoid running wires from the fusebox...

...maybe you let us know how you get on taking your new 992 apart ?
I need to figure out from dash-cam and will get to that when the wet weather keeps the car in more . In past cars after best laid plans, I often just end up doing a good job running wires from fuse area, or aux USB ports ( of which I use none typically ) , as its often just easier and not hard to do a neat job .
An advantage of the USB port route, one does not get into that warranty deny discussion in a new car, should the matter arise.

Took delivery today. Tried to get into the overhead console that looks similar to the one from my 991, but the clips seem to be different. The driver’s side clip looks identical to the 991 but the passenger side seems to be screwed in or oriented differently. I tried with more force than felt comfortable on my brand new car and the passenger side didn’t budge. Driver’s side popped off even more easily than 991. Has anyone been successful in getting this off? This is the picture from the 991 instructions and the passenger side clip (red arrow under the card) appears different on the 992. Any help would be appreciated!

Is it possible that the passenger’s side clip is located along the side instead of the rear? Have you tried pushing with a Card in that location?
I’m curious as to how you resolve this, as I intend to hard wire my radar detector in the same manor.

I tried circumferentially, pushing the card in from the rear and sides. Even while the driver’s side clip was loose, the passenger side of the console would not move. Also wondering if anyone has similar instructions to these from the panamera?

I’ve just decided I don’t want to risk damaging the overhead and will pay someone else to do it.

If you can get them to take pictures, they would be appreciated! Dealer wants to charge a fortune and the 991.2 job took me 15 minutes. I’m happy to sort out pin layout if I could only get the plastic bits off.

I’m still trying. The driver side is a silver metal clip as in the above picture and pops down very easily. Can not get the passenger side to move either??? Have not been able to get enough space to get light into the passenger side to see if it is the same type of clip or something different?

The fortknox of map lighting. My 992 arrives in a few short weeks. I'll have a good crack at opening Pandora's box.
Wish me luck.

Burning Brakes
There is someone else on the UNIDEN post that took it to a place and they could have gone through the mirror but instead did the fuse box tap-
I would like to see pics of what and where and how the fusebox wiring looks....
