My 992 ordered in late April, was unloaded Friday at the Port of Houston. V900 date is September 13 at Porsche of San Antonio. As that date gets closer, I find myself looking for real world driver reviews in both print and on youtube.
In that same vein, I started a thread here about the AC in the 992. The responses have been helpful and informative.
Similarly, what about squeaks and rattles in the 992? I have seen some anecdotal reports of squeaks, rattles, or errant noises. This concerns me. YouTube reviews have reported the same. See for example,
First year cars always seem to squeak and rattle in the real world after testing until they are diagnosed and handled in the second or third year of a model...sometimes never........
Just enjoy it and not look for a reason to not like it ! Its a brand new, custom ordered 911 ya know. It will be a love at first site.

In short, 991 onwards will rattle. The 997s were the last one they build where rattling and squeaking were minimal. A Porsche service manager explained it to me as the outcome of weight reduction and removing a lot of screws from the doors and ceiling, replacing them with clips instead. Worse if you live somewhere with extreme weather (hot or cold) and have a glass roof (they're sensitive to heat/cold changes and will creak). I've learnt to live with it and love the cars either way but if it will upset you greatly to have a few squeaks, then consider a 997.2.

Service managers own theory I think as Porsche would not want their cars to squeak....and first year models sometime need to be sorted after hitting the real world.....my 991 does not squeak....at all.....as solid as my 993 and my 996.....and my 958....you need to take the car to another dealer to solve the issues....some dealers hate to repair squeaks as they are difficult to solve without labor and resourcefulness....

I have sold cars just because of squeaks and rattles, which ruin the experience - if you cannot find a dealer to fix them move on.
I'm experiencing the same description as stated in the video at 9:05: door panel vibrations on washboard streets or in cooler weather. Also, interior door pulls will creek when or if your knee presses against them; they flex quite a bit. Just my observation.
Had to take my .2 991 to the dealer twice for the same very noticeable rattle. They were able to fix it, but some new rattles were creeping up just before I traded it.
I think 991s and rattles go hand in hand. If there is one thing I would hope they fix in the 992 it would be this, but Im not holding my breath.
That being said , I dont know how this compares to other sports cars as my sports car experience is mainly with the 911.

good thing this year is the second year for the 992.
There is at very low revs and in second gear (ie going very slowly behind bicycles on narrow lakeside roads prior to overtaking them) the merest hint of an exhaust on heat shield rattle but even the slightest change in gas loses it. I only heard it because the road runs along a solid rock sheer cliff side so the noise was reflected back into the car.
Update to original post: My 992 is squeak and rattle free, except for an obvious front passenger door rattle when playing loud bass. Have scheduled appointment with dealer, but have solved for now by turning down bass to 0.
Nothing other than random creaks from the sunroof, which I expected from Porsche.
Even with the full leather interior option, be warned there's some startlingly cheap hard plastics in the interior. The interior is a huge upgrade from prior 911s, but you will not confuse it with a Bentley. :P

This is super on point and true haha. And my god, drive one without leather and you could think you're in an actual VW interior wise...which is great for VW, less great for a Porsche haha.
