My office is about a five minute walk from my house, so, I don’t have daily commuting needs per se. That being said, the 911 is my car for everything from kid’s soccer to shopping errands. It also is my vehicle of choice for long distance adventuring. 911s are great at being “cars”. We’re a four car household, but the 911 was very much purchased with the idea that it will be my go to “practical” vehicle.

I just put winter tires and winter wheels on it. Yes, it will get driven in the snow. Cars are meant to be driven.

In the Spring, I am planning on taking several weeks off to explore Route 66 — basically, a coast to coast drive. That will be the big adventure in 2020. I am planning a 48 state grand tour for 2021. Oh, I am not kidding about adventuring in the thing.

@AKB991 Follow up if you can on the winter tires. Nice ride.

We expect delivery of our C2S in January or February and also plan to daily the 992, two kids, 3 years and 0.5 years then. Stroller fits in the frunk on the 991.2, which we also used for cross country trips in Germany, so I am quite optimistic it will work:-). However, as we do not have another car then, it simply has to work;-)

Just ordered my C4S and planning on using it as DD. It'll be my first 911! I’m in NY and will be getting Michelin Alpin 5 for winter tires (not getting additional wheels). I have a Jeep Cherokee for very bad snow days, however, I hope to enjoy my 911 on most days. Me delivery expected end of January.

Hopefully, 992 winter tire availability is better by then, because right now, they're nearly impossible to source outside of getting a Porsche winter wheel/tire package.

I planned to use my C2S during winter here in Quebec 🇨🇦. I have ordered a 20” aftermarket wheel/tire set. I have kept my 2012 Cayenne only for the snowy/slushy days.

I’m just so disappointed that this “hi tech” car has not the remote starter option offered.... A big big mistake for a car supposed to be a “winter car” made by people who’s supposedly knows winter.

C2S coming - pretty much going to be my DD when I pick it up in December.

We do have a other car though - an M140i - which definitely helps. 10k miles in it so far since June.

No commuting to the office, but will travel a lot between other offices, and will spend most time travelling to clients.

Having the rear seats for storage and the occasional small passenger is perfect.

We're in the UK so you can bank on the whole country grinding to a halt if it snows, so whilst I'd love a set of winters, I dont think it's worth the money here.

Winter tires aren't just for snow. They're for cold weather traction.

Yeah, fair point. Maybe I'm just too tight (read: skint!)

Default Sleigh bells ring...

Phefner - I just got a set of Porsche wheels / winter tires for 992 C2S. They’ll be put on today along with K40 and Expel. I was disappointed that I could not find winter tires alone - hey Sinus Doc - where’d you
get your tires and what size ? I’m in NY as well and my field of work is just south of you ( anatomically speaking ).
I was given 3 package options for wheel / winter tires :
GT3 wheels at about 8 k or for roughly 5k , 20/21” wheels ( as came with the car ) or 19/20” wheels.
I opted for 19/20”. My 991.1 had 20” all around and I blew 3 tires in 3 mos last year. All on crap NY potholes. We all know the cost of tires but let’s not forget towing , loaner , time , etc. It was maddening and almost made me shy away. Almost ...
Larger winter tire , less cost , smaller wheel, maybe more comfy ride ? But I hope to minimize pothole hell that is NYC in winter time.
The thought of blowing a 21” winter tire makes me sick as 20” is bad enough. Save the performance tires for the dry. My thoughts anyway.

I didn’t order yet. I was told by tire rack they would have them in January. So I’m hopeful, as my car should arrive late that month.

Wow this is awesome news. To be specific, did they say they will have Alpin 5 tires available for 992?

I’m daily driving my C4S Cabriolet in Michigan. Life is short, might as well have fun. Did doughnuts on a skid pad after our first big snowfall last week.

Yeah! So cool to see picture of someone who uses it daily so even in winter. We don't drive Porsche "to attract a lot looks and attention" nor to "attract attractive women"... and today's 911S is not a collectible car so it's cool to drive this cars all the year long. We have to do it. I'm looking foward to receiving mine.

1000kms in and I already have rock chips and front end damage from garbage flying on the freeway. This is never happened to any of my other cars

But I love it.
