Burning Brakes

My geographic living location is quite different than yours. I factored in the high probability and additional cost (past experience with a Cayman) of hitting a pothole and ruining at least one wheel which would force me to buy at least 2 tires (due to the staggered sizes). I could buy wheel and tire insurance, but again, it's a pay now or later, it's an additional cost.
Also, some of your numbers don't equate to my higher geographic expenses. My analysis equaled break even. I won't disclose my financials on this site. Now I have two iconic vehicles; tons of flexibility to cover any kind of weather, haul bikes or take a leisurely summer drive through picturesque Cleveland or Ashtabula to meet you for a cars and coffee event.
Thanks for attempting to replicate my analysis.

You may may want to look into Body Glove neoprene seat covers, or something similar, to prevent serious damage to your leather when entering your car wet. Ask me how I know. Porsche leather is very easily stained and distorted by rain, more than any other brand I’ve ever owned. Happened to my 2003 996, 2015 Macan S and wife’s 2016 Cayenne S. On the other hand we have a 2005 Lexus LX470 workhorse with 189,000 miles that gets treated like a work truck and takes wet swimsuits with no problem at all!

I don't have a 992 yet, but I do have a 991.2 and previously had a 991.1.
I purchased a set of 991.1 wheels and winter tires from the Tire Rack in 2013 for $2,300. I am able to use them on the 991.2. I have used them for 7 winters. Using them on the 991.1 for almost 6 months per year, I did not have to replace the OEM summer tires before trading it in at 23k miles. Driving the 991.2 much less, 6k miles in 3 years, I will still be able to use the winter tires this year and the summer tires have very little wear.
Factoring in the increased life of OEM summer tires on both cars, the cost of the winter tire wheel package was that of the wheels alone, approximately $1,200 spread over 7+ years. and approximately $150 / year for wheel changes at my local Porsche dealer. I would expect similar costs for a 992.

Old 991.1 C4S and left and new ( today !) 992 C2S on right. The 21” rear wheel is not too helpful in that I believe I’ll need another set of 20” wheels to accommodate winter tires.

Also in SoCal so I can drive anything year round but the 992 is going to be the practical car in my little fleet of 4... Might be a bit ambitious with two kids to use as a family hauler/grocery getter/home depot runner but it's the largest and most practical of 'my' cars. For serious family outings, we have my wife's Cayenne.

My 992 is for weekends or special occasions only. My Panamera is my daily.

Considering a 992 for daily duties here. Main challenge would be school drop off for the two kiddos.
