Not sure which sunroof to go with... some advice wanted on 992 order
So I put my deposit on my dream build 992... I love how the non-glass roof looks in body color, but wonder if I will miss having a glass sunroof? My current BMW 540 has a glass sunroof but I rarely notice if it's open or closed..
Also, what are your thoughts on the yellow interior accents to compliment the yellow calipers with the brakes?
Build goes final in about a week, so I want to get this right as I plan to keep this car 10+ years.... something new for me.
Build code: PLGXPMA1

I went back and forth with the same decision. Did not have the glass sunroof in previous 991 and wanted one. But I don’t really care for the look of the glass roof from outside. I have an Audi with one now and honestly I don’t care if the cover under the glass roof is open or closed. So I ended up not ordering it and using that extra $ on something else in build. Now I saw a video with someone driving a 992 with the glass and I wished I would have gotten it I guess I would go sit in a couple 991’s with and without to decide. But end of day just a personal preference like seat belt color. Pick what you like. Although I might worry like the previous poster the red and yellow may give a little McDonald’s vibe

My opinion: try changing the dials to white and don’t spend on the belts. The yellow clashes sharply with the red and ruins what is a beautiful build. Also in my view if the belts aren’t red it’s not worth spending on them

Obviously looks are subjective but I had the same reaction to the other posters. The yellow dials and belts clash. I see that you're matching the calipers, but it's busy.
I'm going for non-glass sunroof. My BMW has glass and I either have the roof open, or closed. I rarely have the shade back. Also glass sunroofs are known to pop; one less thing to worry about.

Yep, agree, yellow interior pieces clash. Also, not a great fan of anything white on a chalk car...that too seems like a slight clash. I would keep both standard.
Don’t know know why they insist on yellow for the ceramic brake calipers, they are a challenge. But, I think you let them live alone, or get them painted black or red if they bug you.
Personally think the glass roof looks great on chalk, but I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

I opted to go with the steel sunroof for a more “classic” 911 look on my Dolomite Silver car on order. The glass does look ok to me also on colors like chalk, giving it a modern “991-992” 911 look. That said I made my decision based on seeking protection from the sun in my location (sunny Miami) and the fact that the glass sunroof is not the same width as the front and rear windshield and that randomly, as an architect concerned with design, bothered me. Other might like this. It’s all subjective.
Like others have mentioned, I would stick to one accent color. If it’s the red interior then make the other elements neutral or compatible with that accent. Either silver, black or chalk belts and gauges. I think having 2 accents will get lost as everything is trying to call for attention. I find the yellow calipers and yellow accent combo inside works on very subdued builds where everything else is dark or neutral and you have a few elements pop in the yellow.

I love the burgundy/black interior but not with yellow. Drop the yellow accents and change the calibers to black. The glass sunroof will brighten the interior. Consider white or red dials and/or belts if you like that look.

I find myself a bit surprised at the lack of acceptance of the yellow, but I did ask for others opinions, so fair enough... for me, with Porsche offering that color as standard on the calipers, it was a cool, custom touch....and ties in with that well.. maybe white? I just feel like the standard black color is very conservative and dealer showrooms looking ... I guess if I really hate it, maybe the parts can be replaced anyway?

I have the glass sunroof on my current TTS (chalk - it's beautiful!)), and also had it on my previous one. I love it. I frequently have it closed with the sunshade open to the sky. If you plan on getting winter wheels to drive in the winter, I think the glass sunroof is a must. I loved having it this past winter season; it was a blast driving in cold temps under a beautiful sky.
I personally see the yellow belts as clashing with the red, BUT, if you really like them, you're the one who's going to be seeing them the most, so go for it.
