Default 992 Turbo mule doing warm weather testing

This morning I encountered this black 992 Turbo mule with manufacturer’s plates east of Palm Springs near Joshua Tree and followed it for about 10 miles.

Very W—I—D—E !!

This car will be special. Likely a 4.0 liter? Revving just a little higher? We’ll see.

Nice find. I, for one, would spec it without the rear windshield wiper which I find really breaks up the otherwise gorgeous symmetry of the car. The mini duck is an interesting development as well; it has also been spied on the 992 GT3 mule. The 992 models without the vertical stop lights are going to look a lot better in the rear, to my eyes.

I know many are not fans of the wiper, but there is some historical significance to it.

Thanks for the interesting reads. I like the last line: "What would you prefer driving: an automobile displaying tangible and functional evidence of its robust heritage, or a mechanical fair-weather pretty boy? "

this should be awesome... if you want some good US 992 content search for Utah Motorsports Complex on Instagram and look at recent posts. The US 992 dealer training is happening there right now and there's tons of pics/videos on there.

Tried this search yourself? Nothing there!

I heard its going to be a manual offered with the new 4.0 engine from the 718 GT4/Spyder and 991.2 2RS Turbos....

ok that's a joke but how awesome would that be. another manual turbo with close to 700hp out of the box. I would make poor financial decisions to make that happen

Well, the Manual in the GT4 and Spyder is limited to 309 ft-lbs (their motors have been artificially limited to this figure). Would be a shame to do this to an engine capable of over 200 ft-lbs more than the gearbox

I’m not sure of the torque rating in the 991 Manual GT box, but pretty sure it’s not up to the task either...
