Top 5 options to get in 992
What would be the 5 options you’d get if you only had a budget of $10k for options ? And why ? Indicate whether you have actually seen and used any of these options.
I am hoping this will help all of us who are looking to spec their cars.
I will go first:
1. Surround view - this will be my daily drive and I really don’t want to scratch the bumpers in parking lots. Not sure if the standard parking sensors would be enough...
2. GT Steering Wheel - the standard one seems terrible for a sports car. Not easy on the hands...
3. Comfort access - I can’t figure out how this is not standard. Have it on my bimmer and can’t think how ppl did without it.
4. Bose sound system - my SA claims this is a
must for resale and refuse to order one without it
5. Sports plus seats - a must in a sports cars. Standard one doesn’t look like it is good when cornering.

Good thread!
1. I agree on surround view. Have it on the Macan and find it really helpful.
2. Rear steer. For me it’s a defining characteristic of this generation of 911.
3. Pccb. Probably slightly blown my $10k but will blame it on the exchange rate ;-)

1. Sport Seats Plus - I figured since we always are seated in the seats while in the car, need to then get the best/most adjustable seats possible
2. GT wheel
3. Electrically folding mirrors - I use this all the time on my M3, and can’t see owning a car that requires me to manually fold mirrors every time I park
4. Sports Chrono Package - gives a bit more performance & mode switch on wheel
5. Surround View - the thought of scraping those wheels on super-tight multi-storey car park entrances....

My votes:
- 2S (itself is an essential option choice for me)
- RAS
- Chronosport
- PDLS+ Headlights (ideally matrix) they really are that good
- Surround view
[Edit: Having looked at the US configurator i’d choose the US ‘sports pack’ (Chrono, spasm, PSE) plus RAS and the PDLS+ for $10,250 all in. I’d find the extra $250 from the kids college fund!]
Toughest options to be sure about on 992 just now:
- PSE
- SPASM
Not essential but highly desirable (to me):
- club leather with deviated stitching
- delete all but 911 model designation
Seem daft wastes of money (to me):
- Aluminium gear PDK lever (to my eyes it’s no better than the shaver)
- night vision (it was unhelpful 10 years ago on my Merc and just as pointless now)
Missing from tho options list:
- full feature HUD

I'd spec mine as a daily/grand sports tourer.
#1 Burmeister. (I know how it's spelled, but if you put it down correctly this site converts it into some idiotic buy link..) Such a good system and I am a big audio/music fan.
#2 Wood trim. Just looks so good on this generation.
#3 Back and front cam. Surround is nice and looks impressive but not overkill for me given the decent outward visibility of the 911.
#4 Big capacity fuel tank. The less stops a gas stations the better in my book.
Adds up to 8350 USD converted from € for these options in my market.
No particular no 5 comes to mind as the standard suspension and settings systems are well suited for my needs.

1. Sports PASM
2. Rear axle steering
3. Sports seats (4 way)
4. Interior leather
5. Alcantara everywhere
6. Lage fuel tank (it's a bargain!)
That would give you an extremely well handling car, a perfect daily and it's nice to sit inside (and nice to touch).
If there is some money left: PSE or Bose sound system or nice rims. Depending on personal preferences.
I don't see the need for top view and would drop any comfort features (folding mirrors, comfort access) first.
SportChrono doesn't give you that much for the money, if you want the car to be faster tick the box for the chassis upgrades.
Standard LEDs are fine as well. Very bright, far reaching and without the nervous flickering, dimming or blacking out, which I find exhausting when driving by night. But that's just me.

I would say, in no particular order:
- Sports+ seats
- Premium sound system (either Bose or Burm)
- PDLS+ with Matrix
- Sports Chrono
- Sports Design package
My wishlist from possible options not yet offered would include
- PDLS+ in black finish
- Ducktail
- HUD
- Full black Porsche logo & model designation

Cameras
To those of you including me who wanted surround view:
i just read that the standard equipment in the US lists ‘ParkAssist (front and rear) incl. reversing camera’. In that case is surround view still a must have option ? Anyone have experience with this standard camera ?

I'd have quite a word with my SA over #4. What a load of bollocks. The standard audio isn't great but it's not bad either (to my ears only Burmester makes a great enough difference, even though expensive). But the point is that YOU decide if you want it to affect resale value if it already has any significant effect (which in Europe it wouldn't).
