I tried, connected my phone and car with BT and WiFi but can’t get it to work. I do not have wireless charging either so wireless CarPlay would drain the phone battery to much anyway.

my wife's new BMW X7 has wireless CarPlay..it sucks. Its finicky and wont work half the time. Its infuriating because there is seemingly no reason as to why it won/t work at times. At least in the old version once you plug in your phone you know its ready and the screen changes accordingly.

We have had wireless CarPlay in last 3 BMW’s and I am disappointed that Porsche hasn’t bothered to do it in my 992. Or wireless charging for that matter. Worst aspect of the new system is the clunky integration/data usage/interface.

And the wireless CarPlay in my wife's 2017 X5 (previous generation model and previous generation iDrive) works flawlessly.

While my 911 is being serviced, I have a new-gen Macan loaner and its wireless CarPlay is working flawlessly.

Default U.K. 992

Delivered in May in UK. No wireless CarPlay. Got letter from P in late June saying there is a software update as well as a redesigned center console. Perhaps wireless and charging tray to add? Oh and I got a redesigned cup holder... car in shop now... let’s see.

Already did mine. No wireless. Got a cup holder, my connect had problems with CarPlay and they are still present after the update. Now I even got a new one... connecting my phone by wire after having entered a destination on the connect navi some times deletes the destination... I also have problems receiving calls, can’t do navigation on CarPlay and calls at the same time... and so on. Really irritating when driving, especially when on longer drives over hour after hour.

Thanks - did they replace the centre console as well? What changed there?

No, it sounds more advanced than it is - you get a new cup holder... that’s it. You can take it out and put it in the glove compartment and you get to keep the old insert.
