Opinions on Porsche PPF option?
I don’t think I’ve read from any of our European friends whether they got the front protection film/ppf option, and if so, what they thought of it?
Would it be any better/worse than aftermarket?
If the install went bad, would it be covered under warranty or is there an exclusion?

My opinion is if you are doing ED, you should do it. If not, have your local PPF guy do it (less expensive). I'm sure you would get a warranty from Porsche/Dealer on it.

I have done numerous EDs which have included track days and never had an issue without PPF. If you are going to hit something which does that much damage the PPF wont matter. I wouldn't spend nearly $3k for it. However, I actually drive my cars and never worry about how they look. My recent RS had several days at Spa and nearly 2000 miles before being shipped home.

Another way of looking at it: most people are in agreement the price being charged is roughly the same as (or more expensive than) just getting it done with a local installer that they trust.

I did ED on my F83 M4, and had many small stone chips on it when it was delivered back to the US. Drove it about 1400 miles. I'd absolutely go with the PPF if you're doing ED as mentioned above, otherwise get it done locally for less. First ED I didn't have any issue, but drove significantly less, and not as many back roads.
