Default Any chance LSD and RAS are options on Base 992?

I love the engine in my 991.2 Carrera. I only wish I'd opted for a manual. Plus I'd love to have a limited slip diff and RAS. So I'm thinking about selling mine and picking up a 991.2 T.

However...

I really like the look of the 992. Particularly the interior. Just curious as to whether there is any possibility the base 992 Carrera would optionally offer RAS and a LSD. If so, great! If not I'll probably just pick up a 991.2 T.

Of course I could snag a 992 S, but my 991.2 is the first car I've ever owned where I knew enough was enough. The 911 isn't my track car, and for the road the base Carrera is more than enough (heck, it's too much!).

Ultimately I'll end up with a 992 anyway. Just wondering if it will be now or in a few years.

50/50 odds. Technology trickles down more each generation. RAS only on 991.1 GT3, then option on 991.2 Carrera S and GTS, so might be an option for base 992.

Just no way to be sure and I certainly wouldn’t own a 991/992 without RAS. They all drive like a boat without it.

Some thoughts towards end of video regarding a 991.2 T with RAS and a 992S without it.

I don't think so. The 991.2 base sold really well compared to the S compared to previous generations and Porsche lost profit margin/unit. This is because people can get the same HP and a LOT more with a tune that costs a tiny amount. The 991.2 base has the same engine and the only thing that Porsche has to do to make it into an S is change the boost through software (zero dollars) , bigger turbos, brakes etc which probably cost them totally $1000 if that. Then they mark up the price by $14k. Their profit margin on the S is much bigger than the Base. There is a reason the S came out before the base for the 992.

Porsche wants you to buy the S over the base so they make some options only available on the S.

Not sure the average 911 buyer is going to tune their car, or even consider it.

Most people choose an S over a Base (for any Porsche car) based on the HP and standard options. And for the badging on the rear engine cover or lid.

I got a 2019 that came in Nov 18 and built it for 125. Ras, manual, glass roof, dif wheels etc as the wait would be almost a year for the 992. My build to similar on an S with out manual is 145k so my thoughts are just wait on the manual and decide then. Base will as said above prob be limited on options. I go lots of cars & coffee snd rally's and almost no 991.2 base cars seen. Mostly S, GT3s and a few GT3rs ! Prob with finding a nice T is there done with builds and you get what you get ya know. The whole process of the build, the fun and excitement of the wait only adds to the love when it arrives. I sat in a 992 yesterday in Orlando at a new mega store. Car came from corp for just one evening and opening event. Left the following morning straight away its so nice inside. I have it on my insta @ukkid74 Sport tex seats same as my T are unreal, dash and tech unreal. Sounded deep when i went to 4,000 rpm ! Not as nice as my T as I have Akrapovic cats and pipe but still beautiful for a stock car. Wheel in satin 5 spoke had me day dreaming. I went with 5 spoke on mine. Bigger car yes, same **** basically as a 911 is always a 911 ya know. My wait is see when manual comes out and roll into one until gt3 992 comes

I think the likelihood of a manual coming out in a base is very low. Unless it’s something like the T.

Porsche wants to push you towards an S. Keeping the manual there and above helps.

It also has to do with the fleet emissions numbers. This is why the manual is not available in all markets. Porsche is deliberately trying to keep the manual numbers low for their fleet numbers. The fewer manual 992s that it sells, and more EVs, the more GT3s that it can produce.

In a base I don't think it's likely. however I do think Porsche will do a T model which would have it in the 992 range, though it may be awhile before it's out.
