Exactly. There is so much RennList nonsense on this topic. The TTS press cars all had PSP equipped and were praised by the press for steering feel.

It’s a good option to spec. It’s all upside. It’s cheap.

If it really doesn’t change the feel of the steering and doesn’t result in a finger tip light steering, I’m left wondering why Porsche doesn’t just make it standard. I mean, its not as if they make big bucks from it or it affects the margin much on each car. Maybe they should just do that and do the same with the larger tank on RWD models.

Porsche charging $280 for one checked box in the software download that their customers can argue both sides of -I'd say that brilliant!

I opted not to check this box. I realize its a basically rounding error with respect to the total vehicle cost, but I had to draw the line somewhere... I was under the impression that the value added by it is marginal. Also, that turning the wheel at low speeds is easy without it - (and maybe too easy with it?). I completely understand though why some add it because its such a low cost option to (I had originally added it in mine)

I had the same thought. The amount of hand wringing and time wasted considering it as customers is likely matched internally. My conclusion is that without it it better mirrors the feel of analog 911s of old; there's no other good reason I can come up with.

"Very slow" is subjective and absolutely meaningless. 15mph turn is "very slow" which happens all the time in hairpin turns.

The real question is whether PSP disengages in Sport mode regardless of the speed. No one seems to know here?

as already noted, in my personal experience with my 992TTS, PSP works just fine — at all speeds, in all modes and in all circumstances.

I had it removed on both my 991 and 992. I find the car feels more planted and rock solid without PSP.

“more planted and rock solid”?
Please explain, because that has nothing to do with EPAS programming.

I can’t answer for him. But I know what he means. My previous 911 had PSP and I loved the steering. I had no urge to have it removed. My current one doesn’t have PSP, and I have no urge to add it.

I prefer the feel without the PSP. I don’t believe it has anything to do with how ‘good’ the steering is. As in, its efficacy as a system. It’s probably irrelevant. But at low speed the wheel has a little weight to it. An almost old school well balanced significance. A certain gravitas. It feels like a sports car should, to me. Like an exceptional old German or Italian sport car.

Pure personal preference. Like a color.

Thank you, I’ve been racking my brain today trying to figure out how to further explain what I wrote. You nailed it.

Could someone/anyone who has commented negatively about PSP provide a reasonably detailed and objective description of (1) the reasons for their negative view and/or (2) the differences they perceive between PSP and non-PSP configurations.

You own a quarter million dollar 992 Turbo S with PSP. There are 71 posts above talking about PSP. But ! you want someone to produce for you a numbered, detailed and objective briefing about its negative aspects, and the perceived differences.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

I had a 991.2 without, 992 C2S with, 992 C4s with, GT4 and Spyder without and recent 9922 C2s without. I will be getting my Carrera T soon and I absolutely checked that box. I am fit and strong and a 50 year old endurance athlete, it has nothing to do with being weak or frail. Especially with having a manual, parking and even just getting around the damn Whole Foods parking lot (yes I daily my cars) its the difference between being irritated and not in my opinion. I missed the fact that my last 992 did not have that box checked and when I picked it up it was very noticeable. Now, My C4S did have RAS as well and that combined with PSP was pretty damn nice but, with the T I kept it as basic as possible and the only options were a bunch of race tex and a fire extinguisher and PSP of course. GET IT, it can always be turned off if you think it's somehow uncool.
