No cup holder in 992

This just reminds me of the Apple dongle situation. Steve Jobs, Mr. Minimalist and "it just works" probably turned in his grave when Apple made the decision to make people use dongles to connect devices to the new computers. Now, you need a removable cup holder to safely stabilize your drink while in transit in your 911.

If true, that really is a huge snafu on the part of Porsche's R and D. I mean, how could that have been overlooked during years of development? Is this really true? Has this been documented anywhere or is this just what someone at the dealership "heard?" Looking on the bright side, if it is true, I am sure that someone will swoop in and design a cup holder that will fit in that huge cubby hole. Perhaps it will not be "legal" but I doubt you will get a ticket - okay, maybe in West Hollywood, you would get a ticket - but I digress...unlikely you would receive a citation for "illegal use of cupholder." This is really laughable, if true. Thank goodness for my over-engineered 991 cup holders, the left one which routinely spills liquid on my passenger side seat warmer and seat cooler buttons...

Every single person who worked on that console, including the managers who supervised them and the HR reps who interviewed them, needs to be fired. No other way to spin the situation. This is not what Porsche customers are told to expect, and it's not what they (we) expect to pay for.

The parking brake can't even be activated while driving anyway. What's the issue here?
Porsche has jinxed this car in many ways.

Does Porsche have the guts to admit its silly error? And the wherewithal to make a pre, pre, pre mid-cycle modification to the car? As in, a recall for all the cars already made and to modify the current interior to address this cup holder snafu?

Have you tried it personally? Has anyone else? I'll admit I'm curious to see if it actually does anything, but I haven't had the ***** to try it myself.
