Seat comparison

Nice. That answers why there is no longer a seat heating option to select. I guess my behind will be nice and warm after all ;-)
And then they say the 992 is nickle and dime'ing everything...

2 reasons:
1. Cheaper manufacturing when you're always doing something vs. optionally doing it
2. Part of the excuse to raise up the base price

Leather. Less snug fit than 991 but it might be very little, - or just me. I loved the Sport Plus seat and 18 ways in 991 and these are very similar. You clearly also sit lower in the car than in the 991 which really adds to the sports car feeling. I had the 18 ways in last car but I don't miss all the settings.

Thinner cushions? I would prefer the same or a bit more, but not less.
"Seats are all new as well. They are slightly lower (five millimeters), slightly lighter (three kilograms) and feature thinner cushions. Rear seats, for your obliviously lucky children and/or expensive briefcase, feature a 20 millimeter-higher seat and wider cushion."

Previously ordering the Sport Seats Plus 4-ways gave you full-leather seats even if you hadn't selected the full leather package.
My 991 S had the 14-way Sport Seat Plus. What an embarrassing disaster if you had a rear passenger. In order to put the seats down you needed to bring them back electrically in the slowest process ever so you could fold them and clear the ceiling. After folding you needed to move them forward so the rear passenger could get in. After the passenger got in you had to bring them back so you could fold the seat back to the regular position and then adjust the seat to the ideal position for rear and front passenger. It was a joke. Further, the adjustments pretty much never got used and the added motor / gears probably add weight.
4-way Sport Seats Plus were the way to go on the 991 until the lightweight buckets were available. I doubt anything changed.

I have18 way seats on my current order; however, after going to Atlanta this past weekend and getting into 992's with 14 & 18 way seats, I am changing mine to the 14 seats as I found them PERSONALLY more comfortable.
You definitely need your Butt In the Seats config test to really determine what is best for you.

Admittedly spent very little time in a car without 18 way seats. After spending some time making adjustments with the 18 way seats in my car, i find them to be very comfortable but clearly a very personal thing!

I took the plunge and ordered sports+ 4 ways after owning a 991.2 w 18 ways, without really testing them all out on the 992 conscientiously... you guys have me a bit nervous now!
My thinking was:
-I almost always had the bolsters in the widest setting in my 991.2 (I’m a wide-shouldered 6’4 230lb guy)
-the length adjustment on the seat bottom seems nice, but my legs don’t really rest on the front part of the seat
-I preferred the lumbar setting more recessed
-don’t really care about the memory settings
if for some reason I hate them, I think I’d invest in a nice set of manual, quality seats from someone like recaro and put the oem in storage.

I'm confused. Looking at the 4 way Sports Plus. Is the seat ONLY adjustable in 4 ways? Or only 4 ways powered? Does it still have lumbar? Bottom cushion extension? Thanks.
