Pelucidor, congrats. It is on the way. Quick trip to Canada first. A stop in R.I., and then mine has to loop around Florida, cut through the Gulf and will get into Houston around the 17th. This part was never bad, you at least know an end was coming. This epa cert thing though, that may hurt a bit.

^^ So your delivery date was originally late May, then slipped to late July, and is now back to late May?

There are three dates on the Tracking Form from Porsche in Germany: the Planned Date (total fiction), the Expected Date (changes on occasion to get within a few weeks of reality) and the Actual Date (only one that matters - left blank until the milestone is achieved). Here is my Tracking Form from 3 weeks back.




My car will hit U000 (Entry Port Davisville in Rhode Island) on 10May a week ahead of Planned/Expected - but this does not mean much.
The Expected Date for V900 (Dealer Inventory) was always 12Jul since my first tracking form in Feb. About 3 weeks ago the Planned Date for V900 moved from a hilarious 24May also to 12Jul. However even with Planned/Expected agreeing that I can get my car around 12Jul (and everyone else I have heard of in USA also having an updated V900 placeholder for 12 July) my car is unlikely to be available at dealership until August due to 2-3 months required for CARB certification etc for first batch of cars.

Mine is the same, dates jump all over. As you can see, my dealer inventory estimate has gone back to May 24th again. Keeps bouncing around. We do not have Carb Cert in Texas, but still waiting on the EPA. My guess is July for Texas.

Educate me on this. Is carb certification in Texas for each car, or once the first build of that model of cars is certified, are all later built cars of that model carb certified?

Carb is a regulation several states have adopted to be stricter than standard EPA certification. Originates from California. You can google it. lots of info.

Texas is not a CARB state so we are just waiting on EPA certification. (Not an expert on this just picked up a bunch from the forum) That said non-carb states have tended to get there cars delivered quicker than Carb states since it is an additional certification.

My dealer just Emailed me that Porsche pushed back the on sale date to September 4 this afternoon. Definitely a bummer with the car landing in the US in a week or so.

He said the on sale date.

The car tracker says it will be in dealer inventory in May, but there is no way it is leaving the port before it is certified and the correct VECI label has been applied. Only with a VECI label in place can the car be removed from the port storage lot.

Bottom line, nobody knows. Dealers will say a bunch of things. We will see. Still hoping worst case is July. But wouldn’t trust anything at this point.

My Car as of 5/3 is at the Dock( Emden). I received this note from my SA this morning. “ FYI, all Carreras will be held at the dock until we have EPA and CARB approval. It’s unknown how long that can take”. Obviously the CARB only applies to certain States. I still show July 12 delivery. I’m assuming I will get the Car at the end of July or early August.

Mine still says 7/12 also. To make that date all the emissions documents need to be filed with the EPA or CARB by May 12th. If their Certification goes into the public domain before the dealers share it, I will post them getting it.

First time I have seen any indication at a dealer that a 2020 911 is incoming. Not my dealer, but one in Fort Worth. I have not called to ask them what the deal is or if they had any idea on timing, but very interesting. May not be anything, but here is to hoping it is.

I’ve seen them for a couple of weeks at least at several dealers - listed as “incoming vehicle.” Not sure it reflects actual arrival time.
