Yes, it is quite like the suv interiors and like the Panemera interior (picture attached), which is maybe why OP is envious because he also has a Panamera. [img]blob:https://rennlist.com/a9da489a-a474-40dc-9b20-9592e486f946

To each is their own of course, so OP just buy the 992 to rid yourself of envy. Do not covet thy fellow Rennlister’s car😄.

You're not really providing anything important to the conversation. Just a random reedy voice.

Tell us about your 911 ownership experience ? You’ve got all of the 2017 era key words correct - “triggered, game changer, home rum” etc. Apart from looking at pictures on the internet, and seeing a 992 at the auto show, all I’m reading is some strong kool aid gulping LA child cant. How many 991s have you owned ? Failing that, how many 911s ? Your BMWs don’t count obviously, and neither does the internet.

The center screen tech on the 992 is a much needed improvement. The rest of the interior is trash - the nubbin, the blank plastic. The door handles, the big gulp holder, the low rent materials. It’s a solution looking for a great problem.

I cant wait for them to try the nubbin on the GT3. They don’t have the nads. And they know it. The third break light will disappear as well. Go on Porsche - tell us that it’s a 9 and an 11 and it looks like a pause sign on a game controller. Exactly how stupid do they think people are ? Stupid enough I guess that at least anonymous LA guy will get his surround camera. Because he “can’t live without it”.

Back to Bimmerfest with you

The 991 has a straight to the point, no funny business interior. Even in it's most basic form the quality/fit and finish shames anything in its class. Fully driver focused. Amazing ergonomics. A true cockpit.

Take your hand and press hard all over the interior of a Benz or BMW. Creaky POS plastics all over the place. The 992 is trying to appeal to exactly that market. Sofa seats SL class style.

Geez there is a lot of needless anger in this thread. Not so sure you are adding anything particularly valuable yourself you know. I had a 996 C4S and a 991.1 Turbo. Loved them both, very different cars. Will likely own a 992 of some sort eventually. We'll see how the targa looks as I absolutely love the 991.2 Targas. Yes I've sat in a 992 but have yet to drive one (have you?). Like I said I think the interior is the low point and am not in love with it (I have a special disdain for the black plastic on the center console, can live with the nubbin and cup holder). I can comfortably say that and at the same time say it feels fresh and makes the 991 interior feel a bit aged. Life goes on you know.

One thing is for sure, if you really love the 992 interior, never, ever, step into an air cooled 911. The interior was already stone age in the '80s. But it was Porsche through and through, something I can't really say about any of the water cooled Porsche interiors I've owned.

I have a Panamera Turbo and, like you, I love the interior. But the 992 interior is nowhere near as nice as the Panamera’s. I had the opportunity to sit in a 992 a couple of months ago and was really underwhelmed...it actually looked cheap.

I used to have a 991.2 - the interior is really nothing special.

992 clearly references the air cooled era interiors. I think it's pretty cool, but the shifter is a problem.

Nothing special to me means it is functional, simple, attractive, and does not have anything that distracts me, which is why I like my 991.2's interior; I cannot say that entirely about the 992.

We'll see when it comes out. 991 has a lot of buttons, so it's not exactly a paragon of simplicity in there.

They don't understand that "the 991 interior feels aged" is a GOOD thing. If something works, don't mess with it. That used to be the real "Porsche code."

And boy, was this ever prophetic:

(Well, that last part didn't age well, at least. It'll be a cold day in hell before I buy another car without a surround-view option, having gotten used to it in the Macan.)

No interest in prior generations of anything here. The 992 interior is appropriate and clean. I would own a 992 had the tea leaves shown me the approaching stupidity in this market as a result of the China Flu. The M4 interior is a very strong player if one places a high priority on this factor. Yeah, I know, different price point, blah, blah, blah, but performance that is not worlds away for either. Check out the new M4 and then jump into a 992. The comparrison is a bit of a wake up call.

Yeah, but that grill.

I don't care how hot her body is, if I have to put a sack on her head.
