I love Agate, and as others have said, it's very forgiving. I can go months without washing my 991.1 Cab, even during the NorCal rainy season, and it looks good in most any light or normal viewing distance. Mine has never looked brown or green to my eye, but I understand that some people perceive it to be in those color ranges. I was actually worried that it would be too dark when I bought it, having had a nightmarish experience with a black 997, but it's not really a dark gray.

I'm actually fairly obsessive about keeping a car clean, but Agate has allowed me to relax a bit. I've had white, black, red, yellow, and crazy-*** red-white-orange (racecar) Porsches, but none hold a candle to Agate in terms of day-to-day practically and beauty.

I love most Porsche colors, excepting those that veer too far into turquoise, pink, or champagne. And of course avoid black at all costs - it's the anti-Agate and will look good for maybe 15 minutes every time you clean it!

😂 This was 15 minutes after presenting the 992 at the Zurich Premiere. Looked terrible!

Big thanks for the advice. Keeping the agate, now its just the sideskirts that i am a little bit unsure about. Going to drive a demo car at the dealership next week and hopefully then i can decide if the sport design skirts is worth it.

There is no green tone in Agate whatsoever. Grey, black and brown.

IMHO chalk looks fabulous on the 992 (but not with black wheels). For reasons which I do not understand myself, I prefer non-metallic colours on the 992. Any thoughts on this?
I am with your assessment as well. I am leaning toward Chalk as well, but curious which wheels you like best with that color.

I think the Carrera Classics would look great.

Beautiful car! I like the spoiler up.....but be prepared for someone from the 911 police to criticize you. I bought my first 911 last April and was disciplined. Coming from the world of C7....we like our spoilers and I still do.....guess I am a rebel

LOL. I'm aware of the spoiler police. The spoiler was up because I had just washed the car and was drying it with a chamois when I snapped a couple pics.

A few pics of my Agate Cab, in the garage, still wet from the rain today. I last washed it in December, I think. Daily driver, parked in an outdoor lot daily M-F, garaged at night. I wax it well 2-3 times a year, and it's a beauty even at 6 1/2 years and 33k miles. I'm not saying Agate is the perfect color, but it's close.

One pic is a 10x zoom, showing what makes it such a cool color. Looks a bit like static from an old TV screen at that level of zoom.
