I always had agate grey and LOVED the color. Only now with the 992 I switched to aventurine green (grey green) but I know, a small part of myself will always love agate grey!
Agate grey in artificial (dark) lighting conditions
Agate grey in bright daylight
Agate grey in semi dark daylight
Agate grey in semi dark daylight
One thing is for sure. Prime time for this color is dawn / blue hour!

I know I’m going straight to hell with this one but I love the combination of grey and black wheels! (Although this is volcano grey and slightly darker than agate grey)

Agate all day and twice on Sunday. Agate is awesome in person and it's timeless. Crayon will look like a fad in five years.
Agate changes tone in different light and looks great in all of them.

I have Agate on my Macan and it is indeed very forgiving and beautiful.
I don't think you could really go wrong with either.

To me, Agate looks like it has both black and brown undertones in it. In low light, it looks kinda grey black, and in sunlight the slight brown undertones shine through. Not enough to make it look brown or bronze, but just enough to make it look like a really unique shade of gray. It's one of the few dark grays that really pops in sunlight.

Unfortunately you need good sunlight for Agate to come alive — which in some countries is not always possible..
Plus I personally believe a 911 should always be seen .
My previous 911’s — guards red etc .
My previous Macan GTS —Agate ,
My new 992 — Crayon.
Yes it’s a personal choice .

Hi,
I am no fan of agate. Depending on light it has a shade of green and/or brown.
IMHO chalk looks fabulous on the 992 (but not with black wheels). For reasons which I do not understand myself, I prefer non-metallic colours on the 992. Any thoughts on this?
