I am in Florida and already have an offer for 6.5% working my way to 7%. My spec has a MSRP of $140k, so that is close to $10k off. I also got 6% off my MSRP from a GA dealer. Maybe since I dont want my car till April/May of 2020 gives me some leverage.

Where is FL? Dealer name? It can only help those looking if one knows who is offering a discount to give them leverage with their local dealer.

Miami. Champion Porsche in Pompano Beach - have a 6.5% off MSRP from them already.

One can buy from any dealer in the country and have it shipped from Germany to their local dealer via the "Courtesy Delivery Program". PCNA will pay the receiving dealer up to $600 for the PDI; however, the receiving dealer has to agree. Usually the seller dealer will contact the receiving dealer to make the arrangements or you can stop in your local dealer and talk to the Sales Manager. If they seem reluctant at first you can tell them that if they accept it you will give them your service business in the future, buy parts from them, etc., and that is often enough for them to agree.

Thanks for the info! I guess if they cant match the price then they just get $600 for delivery?

Amazing that dealers won't discount here, but some dealers discount 6.5% for the same car.

Supply and Demand at its finest.

A dealer may often match the other dealer's offer, if possible albeit they need an allocaton, etc. but if they will accept it PCNA will pay them up to $600 for the PDI. I had a dealer here in FL tell me they could not match another dealer's offer but they would do Courtesy Deliveries, at $1500 so the buyer would have to pay $900; however, the deal from the other dealer far exceeded the $900 I would have had to pay. I wound up ordering from a dealer about 2 1/2 hours away that gave me the best deal and I got a one way rental and we drove it back home on back roads all the way...nice experience and I saved $10k over buying from the dealer closest to me.

We finally settled for 7%. Going in Friday to finalize my deal - it will be for a manual gearbox though. I know I will never be as fast as the PDK but does not matter to me as I want to have fun and enjoy controlling my own car as opposed to the PDK doing all the work (yes, you can use the paddle shifts to control the PDK but it is not the same). Hopefully, it will be a lot smoother than my 996 Turbo.

I'm not sure you are going to finalize any deal on Friday. A finalized deal needs a commission number. That number can only be given out when the dealer has an actual allocation. The manual cars have not even been announced yet, let alone have a MSRP or a dealer allocation.

Just saying.

😀👍

Conversely if you are an aficionado, cars here last forever due to the generally warm to hot dry climate.
I've bought new cars in both countries including 911's. The markets are completely different; US buyers would cry both at the list prices in Australia but also at the discounts that can be negotiated on these types of cars.
