Janko does an awesome job. Really enjoy his reviews and idiosyncratic Swedish delivery.
The sock placed over the Nubbin cracks me up. He doesnt even mention it - but you can see it covering the offending piece of plastic as the shot pans across. Hilarious
I've been avoiding a black 911 for a long time. That time is over I think.
@ 2:28.... WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT?!?! The 992 startup sounds like a minivan! There isn't a hint of flat 6 or sports car (or discernible sound, period) in there! Have they lost their minds? A Macan V6 without PSE sounds louder. It's the first time I've witnessed another 911 manage to make a 991.2 startup sound comparatively "beefy."
Yes I asked the same thing earlier. 992 has PSE, but those startups are completely different. The 992 sounds very flat, although I have watched all the reviews now and it seems ok inside when they are filming. But that outside sounds really dead, very surprising.

Aww here we go! That's how the 991 became loved again lol, there will be many more to come
LOL Well, the good news (or bad really), is that a 992 is not within reach for me any time soon, so my old 997.2 TTS will just have to do for now.
But, I have been won over a bit more than when I first saw the 992 for sure. Mainly in the performance area, not so much still in the looks / interior dept.
We really need to wait for US models to truly judge the sound. The particulate filters are choking the crap out of this engine. I suspect they will be detuned to have the same output.
Auto motor und sport test numbers (992 4S vs 991.2 GT3)
Not trying to start a paper race, but those appear to be different numbers from what I have seen for the GT3. The GT3 should be doing 0-200 kph in 10.6 sec and people are getting time slips in the 10's in the 1/4 mile (stock). https://fastestlaps.com/models/porsc...3-991-facelift
For reference, the 991.2 gts does 0-200 in 11.5 sec (0-124 mph). Corroborated by a 1/4 mile time of 11.3 @125, posted by magazines. https://fastestlaps.com/models/porsc...s-991-facelift
These guys are pretty accurate with their info.
Base on this, the 0-200 for the 992 should be in the 11's, for sure.
The 8 speed pdk has shorter gearing, and there are new fuel injectors, headers, on the 992 etc. But that does not make the 992 as fast as the gt3. Especially at high speed. If Im not mistaken they also dialed back the boost in the 992.
Having said that, thats pretty awesome for a non-GT car, and I bet on the street it will feel as fast as a GT3, no doubt about it.

Not exactly the same, but last week I drove a 2018 non-OPF 991.2 GTS and a 2019 OPF equiped 991.2 GTS. The 2019 OPF GTS was definitely a bit quieter but performance was exactly the same. I also drove the 992. I preferred the 991.2 GTS so bought one as my new beater.
