I am not a huge fan of the nubbin and the rear light but i will say that as the owner of a new generation Panamera the interior and tech is a huge plus.

My overall view is that progress is inevitable and when it comes to daily drivers, it's much better to have the latest tech. Plus, haters are going to hate and the reality is we all need to keep our dealership relationships and loyalty to keep those GT allocations coming :-) (sorry, not trying to start another ADM etc discussion but it's the reality of the world)
And since all new Carreras are the same width, GT cars going forward will be much more focused.

congrats and thanks for confirming my choice for that red interior! I love it even more now... Can you do me a favor and get a close up of the center pedestal area? I am trying to gauge the quality of the black plastic used... is it like the one un my BMW which does well on wear or is it like you'd find on a Japanese car and scratches easily?

BTW.. to keep this area clean, I'm willing to bet a very clean micro fiber cloth will be your best friend.

Interesting. If it's anything like the black trim I had optioned out in my 991.2, it will wear if you even look at it the wrong way. I wish there was an available option to substitute out that entire casing with something matte.

if its that bad, someone will make a carbon fiber or some other material option to replace it I'm sure... there will be a market for that .

so i looked at that picture and i promise i am not a messy car guy :-) - That is the result of a couple hundred miles with the top down.

There is one other thing i don't like about the 992 - the lane assist is active even when its off and it does tend to intervene, especially around roadworks where the lines on the road disappear or rapidly move around. It is quite disconcerting until you get used to it as it feels like the car gets out of control

Are you saying that the lane keep assist can "assist" the car even when it's off? I can deal with chimes, but does it actually "correct the steering" when it's supposed to be off? That sounds really dangerous.

It certainly appears to - I have it off and if i change lanes without indicating or are in construction it still "Assists" you beyond a chime, It says it it off but maybe there is okk and OFF and i just have ot figured it out. Its not so much dangerous as annoying

my BMW does the same thing.... only using the turn signal makes it not intervene

you should clean it with a damp microfiber cloth and take another photo 😂

Surely this cannot be right? If it is right, s it possible to get a Porsche Centre to delete this option?

It may not be but I am still playing with the settings. I think I have turned most of it off but there are a lot of settings.

Regarding the microfiber, as a fellow Brit said in a movie “it ain’t that type of movie Bruv”. I will either accept it or have to trade it in. It’s such a good car that I will just deal with it

cant wait to see the turbo and the rs cars. Think how wide they will be. Will probably look like rsr’s which will be insane
