Hello From South Africa
Thought I’d make my first post ever. Ordered my GTS May 2022, Cape Town, South Africa. Had the most stressful weekend when my local dealer called me to say they had a cancellation that I could have in May.
After lots of deliberation, I chose to stick with original order, the model on offer was Crayon without Axel Lift and a bunch of options I wanted that were missing.
Got him to bring one to my house and my drive way was not kind to the front and so Axel lift is a non-negotiable.
So, back to waiting for my dream build in Agate Grey with Aerokit and GTS Interior with red stitching.
This will be my first Porsche and I’ve dreamed of it for 30+ years, it will be worth the wait, do wonder if I’ll make it before the facelift, sales exec isn’t so sure. No eta at all yet.
Anyway follow this forum daily so thought I’d join the list of those sharing the torment of waiting and waiting.
This is what my slice of heaven will look like one day:

Interesting....not sure I've seen TYD actually show a 9 week wait in Emden, usually they just string you along in 3 week delays. Wonder if this means Emden is even more impacted than the normal.
If it makes you feel any better, your car got built in 3 days, mine took over a month. And then was in Emden a month.

They’re estimating almost 2 months at Emden for you. Hmm.
My estimate is still 1 month (step 7 completed on 2/14 and step 8 is estimated to be 3/14).
Curious if other folks that aren’t at step 7 yet also got pushed out. Porsche may be adding time to account for a delay at Emden.

Hmmm. So far my tyd schedule is holding proper. Based on the the map image my car is at the port or in a holding pattern outside of it awaiting entry. I suppose more will be revealed in the next day or two given my next date for change is March 9.

Update on the Dong-A Glaucos headed for the US west coast. Despite it's official AIS destination of Jacksonville, it does appear to be headed directly for the Panama Canal. Also it's picked up speed a bit, looks like less headwinds. Current estimated arrival at the Panama Canal is 3/14.

Massive delay just hit my Carrera T. It is built and was supposed to be at Emden on 2/28 and on a boat 3/3. Today, it still isn't at Emden, and now moved out to 4/20 to be on the boat. My SA thinks it is due to having deviated stitching scheduled.
Is the car is built why would deviated stiching impact anything? That doesn't make sense. The delays are at Emden getting cars on ships pure and simple. My build is still showing transferring to a boat the same day as it arrives at the harbor but we all know that's not going to happen...
