Bought this set for my winter tires. Pretty pleased for a cheap set of forged monoblock aluminum. They're on closeout on VividRacing, made for the GT3, but they fit my GTS fine, no issues or spacers. Got some magnesium litespeed (https://www.litespeedracing.com/rs5rr) wheels on order for the Spring look and weight reduction.

Some really beautiful setups on here.

Quick wheel question, and I would appreciate input. I've been on the fence for about a year looking at aftermarket wheels for my ride. I want to go with a 3piece set, and I've narrowed it down to ANRKY, HRE and Vossen in a 21/22 configuration. I came across the below article on Vivid Racing's site:

https://www.vividracing.com/blog/one...piece%20wheels.

The info that concerns me most is this quote:

"However it should be mentioned that the three-piece wheels are heavier compared to one-piece wheels and they are not very strong compared to the one-piece and two-piece wheels. Three-piece wheels are very high maintenance in terms of cleaning them and most of them vibrate in the rain when the water gets trapped in the place where the two-piece barrels meet."

I'm not worried about the cleaning, but I am worried about the strength of the wheels. And do 3pc wheels really vibrate in the rain? I've never owned a set.
Thanks in advance.

I’ve had three piece SSR wheels before and never experienced any vibration .. in the rain or otherwise!
I suspect if it really was that bad many people wouldn’t buy 3 piece wheels at all!!!

I’m not sure who wrote this article, but no those problems and conclusions are not true.

I’ve owned 1 piece flow formed and cast wheels, 2pc and 3pc forged from HRE, Vossen, and others. The vendors you have chosen are all very reputable and in your size choice of 21/22 you will have many options. Pick the style of wheel you like, with finish options you prefer, and purchase with peace of mind. 2pc and 3pc are available in your size. I chose HRE 3pc because I wanted the flexibility of outer rim replacement versus entire barrel if there was road damage.

The vibration in the rain is only true if you get a reverse mount wheel, which has a straight outrr lip and the drop center hump is towards the back of the wheel.

Under a very heavy downpour water can get trapped between that hump and the face of the wheel.

All that being said, nobody buys reverse mount wheels for these cars anymore you’ll notice all the wheels have a step lip and there’s no longer that hump in the back of the wheel that you used to see with reverse mount wheels.

Wow those BBS E89's in 20's looks so good on the green GT3 Touring. For some reason they look like 21's..maybe it's because of the deep steplips that make the wheel look big. Would the same set up fit a 992 C4S?

I posted mine in the lowering thread, but here are my new HRE Classic 300’s in satin white gold. I’m hoping to get them mounted on the car in the next two weeks.
