992 Live Feed- Keep your 991

I rarely ever have my rear wing in the up position, however, this is my major complaint on the 992. From all of the photos that see of it with the rear wing up it looks exactly like you left the trunk open. Not a good look at all.

To be fair the wing looks like crap on the 991 as well. And while you may not manually raise it, it'll pop up whether you want to or not while you're driving.

I have no doubt the car will sell and be appealing to some consumers. Esp the younger "iphone" generation that LOVE the "porsela" interior along with the big screen like fat kid with ice cream LMAO!!
but for the more "old school" (note old school and NOT old LOL!) we find it too much. I miss having buttons and not a fan of going through 5 diff menus on the touch screen to turn my PSE on/off LOL
The 911 will continue to evolve with new technology and design, but the "classics" will always be appreciated by the true enthusiasts. (hence we see how well the 911s are holding their values in general)

I'm open to change in the automotive world (but not much else if y'all know what I mean) and I like the clean look of the dash of the 992. Definitely Panamera-like. Let's face it, this is the future and as time progresses, we'll learn to embrace these changes. I'm sure most of us will eventually "acquire" a taste. As someone said, all the hate & love for change gets unleashed every time a new variant is released. We are only human, right?!
Having said this, I'm glad I ordered a 991.2 GTS. It reminds me of why I chose it over an Audi R8. I'm definitely old school and I especially like the round dials of the 991 in racing yellow. Round dials in cars are becoming a thing of the past just like in modern aircraft. I'll cherish my GTS (when it finally gets here) but I can totally see myself in the 992 down the road. I hope the R8 will be around then but it's not looking promising. It will be a sad day when combustion engines are no more and steering wheels will be an option on cars. Hopefully, I'll be dead by then.

I don't mind the 992 for the most part. I have a 991.2 GTS coming, and I like it a lot. I'm sure that ultimately, I will like the 992 a lot too.
One thing that seemed odd w/the 992 in the YouTube videos posted, earlier in this thread, is that the front wheels seem lost inside the wheel wells. Not sure why, but the front wheel arches scream for larger wheels or a lower suspension setting.

As someone above said, this is the type of reception any new 911 gets.
That being said, I am personally looking forward to trying a 992. The design changes, particularly in the interior, rectify a lot of the "911 annoyances" for me (as I daily drive my 991.2 year-round). It's the little things...looking forward to an actual cupholder for my morning coffee or phone, for example. Also looking forward to scooping out less snow and ice from the door handles in the winter.
As much as the car continues to move in a "GT" direction, I have no doubt it'll still be stellar on track. I've done over 1300 track miles in my 991.2, and have never once used the shift **** - so for me, paddles only works just fine. If I want to shift, I'll drive a car with an actual manual transmission.
Bottom line, I am cautiously optimistic. Will reserve judgement until I drive the thing

The configurator does not offer a manual transmission and the brochure from the 992 site only mentions PDK. Glad I got my manual 991.
Only thing I like about it is the indents in the frunk going back to the old cars. It just looks "Clunky" inside and out.

Three Wheelin'
The MT shifter is going to look ridiculous in there. The rear end is ugly.
I like the door handles and I do like how they integrated the screen with the dash. Otherwise, it feels like a step backwards in many ways.
Will definitely have to reserve total judgement for when I test drive one.
